Last week I stumbled across a Marvel Legends single variant Marvel Girl at Wal-Mart. Today, while I was hitting the isles, I come across the double variant of Marvel Girl (1 of 500).

I like the Marvel Legends variants and have a few. I want to get some of the early ones like the unmasked Wolverine, gold Ironman, etc.
The single variant is going in the marketplace for retail price if interested.

I was interested. Big thanks .
Toyfare gave the Double Variant a price of 200 bucks. Since the 1st unmasked Wolverine, no other chase figure has commanded a price like that. It blows though,.. in the stores up here, the regular Marvel Girl is no where to be found,.. & I had to pick up BlackKnight off of Hasbro.com. The only 2 figures I wanted from that wave.
Looking forward in getting a Tygra,.. or hoping I do.

I found three variants at one time at KB Toys, that included the BlackKnight. I figured they were brought back by the local scalper. That was a very hard variant to see because it is so close to the regular.

WHy's it a "double variant"? Because it's packaged backwards?

Yes, I think the only difference is that is packed backwards.

I saw the variant at Target and passed. I really want the regular version. There are a few others in that wave that I wouldn't mind getting, but she's the only one I really want and can't find.
It's the 'shake your booty' variant. Interesting. I've never seen them package one like that. Pretty interesting find.

The sentiment on a couple of the toy boards is that the 500# is bogus. The figure seems to be popping up too much to be that limited. One guy even found two.

It could be bogus. I have noticed the going price of these on Ebay have gone from around $150 to $80. I know alot of this is because of the "I want it now" mentality of some collectors (Hot Wheels collectors suffer from his bad). $80 is about the going rate of the unmasked Wolverine.

So its the same just a packaging error? Why does she turn black anyway?

Its not a packaging error because I don't think the insert wouldn't fit in the blister backwards. Plus, all the double variants I have seen, her head is turned to the left. It looks like these were intentionally made. I think they are going back to HTF variants because of the flops of the past few releases. I've seen characters from the last few releases sit on the shelves until they hit the clearance isle.

So it is just the same figure put in the blister backwards? Same tray? Packaging error, not a true variant.
