    Costume Spotlight: Condor Man

For the entirety of the month, I'm going to spotlight a Halloween costume every once in a while. I can't think of a better place to start than Condorman, a movie I had high hopes for. I honestly anticipated this to be a straight laced superhero movie vis-a-vis Superman 2.

What we got was the guy from "Some Mothers do have 'em" in a spy parody that I'm not sure I ordered. Condorman got me for some comic books but luckily I passed on being a bumbling hero that year. I should probably rewatch the film.

I remember seeing this movie on the Disney Channel in the mid-80s. I wanted to like it more than I actually did, due to the bumbling and the spy angle being more important than the super hero one. I seem to recall Bob Denver playing a similar character on a Fantasy Island episode, or am I nuts?

I have this video. A member here "Supes" sent it to me after I made him a Super Friends t-shirt. I haven't gotten around to watching it. Maybe I should.

I don't recall Bob Denver, but William Daniels (KITT) played Captain Nice in the sixties, and there was also Mr. Terrific (not the DC hero).

^Thank you! Yes, I wasn't nuts. No wonder I remember it, as I had my own hero called Eagle Man. Mego 3 3/4" Luke Duke + Sill Putty mask and wings = Eagle Man. Add in Gilligan, and you have something hard to shake out of the subconscious, even 30 years later.

Saw the movie in the theatre when it was first released.
Have never watched it again since.
