Help Finding Info on a Vintage Toy

    Hey all,

I was spacing out here at work today and remembered as a kid in the 70s I had a clear/yellowish super ball. Maybe 3" in diameter. Inside the rubber ball was a picture of a mummy. I remember being alternately fascinated and freaked out by it. Does any monster toy collector know what I'm talking about? I remember being able to slam that mofo on the ground and it would go way, way up with that mummy image spinning round and round. It was pretty cool.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about and can post a picture, I'd be grateful.

It was kind of like this picture, but with a mummy in it instead:

The one in the bottom right is the closest I've seen to an actual 'mummy' one- but probably close to what you meant at least... Ignore my basement carpet, it's not exactly the cleanest ;0

Dang those are cool. You're right, they're definitely close. That's the same style, but it was definitely a mummy. How hard are these things to find?

I've seen them come up a few times- mine were from an old store stock find and were some of the later to be sold, so unfortunately didn't really get a pick in what I got, and some of the picture inserts inside are smaller than would be desired when looking from one side (take wolfman for example, he's pretty small and not magnified, but on the other side there's a cyclops lookin' fella who is pretty well magnified, similar to the difference between the creature in front left and the mummy in the front right).

I'm sure given the likeness of some of them (I have a wolfman, phantom, creature, frankie that are all near exact likeness) that you can find a more accurate mummy, which is probably the one you are referring to. I'll keep my eyes out to see if I can hunt one down for you, as I'd like to enhance the collection a bit myself.
