    Trivia Query

Here's a question I am curious about (not that I have an answer)--what actor has been turned into a toy the most times? I'm thinking in terms of different characters made into action figures, not most figures made of the same character (so just because there have been tons of Luke Skywalker figures, that wouldn't make the winner Mark Hamill). This query is coming from someone who has more than once considered and even started to collect figures based on actors from the Royal Shakespeare Company, so it may just be my predilection for noting these sort of things.

Off the top of my head, Patrick Stewart comes to mind with figures from Dune, X-Men, and Star Trek: The Next Generation, and depending on how you count figures of Locutus and Dixon Hill, his count gets higher.

    Thoughts?

Good point, and I wouldn't have even thought about Batman and Robin.

How about Sly Stallone? The characters I can think of that have been made into action figures are: Rocky, Rambo, Judge Dredd, John Spartan from Demolition Man, Lincoln Hawk from Over the Top, Barney Ross from Expendables. That's six.
Also, he did the voice for Weaver in Antz. Does voice work count?

Also, Will Smith seems on his way to one day having the most character likenesses in figure form. So far, I can think of:
After Earth, Men in Black, ID4, Wild Wild West.
Plus i'm sort of surprised there weren't figures made for I, Robot, I Am Legend or Hancock. Or maybe there were and I just missed them.

I thought of two more youngish actors who already have several figures and might end up with several more before they are through.

            Dwayne Johnson
The Rock WWE, Road Block in GI Joe, Scorpion King
Plus I'm sure Hercules will have action figures next year.

            Ray Park
Darth Maul, Snake Eyes in GI Joe, Toad in X-Men

I think it might be a toss up between Stallone and Schwarzenegger. While I don't think you should be able to count the animated weaver, as the figure is of that particular character, and not really patterned after the actor.

Right now I'm counting 6 for each...

              Schwarzenegger
              Conan
              The Terminator
              Commando
              Predator
              Last Action Hero
              Batman & Robin

One could give the argument that each of the Arnold Terminators in the movies each are different characters, but I think that's a bit too convenient, and feel that they should be lumped together.

              Stallone
              Rocky
              Rambo
              Judge Dredd
              Demolition Man
              Over the Top
              Expendables

And for #6... Stallone himself! Okay, this may be a bit of a stretch... but, in the early 80's, ERTL produced a line of figures based on real superstars titled, Super Stars. One of them was Sylvester Stallone (as seen in Rocky III)... but labeled Sylvester Stallone on the card.

Making it a tie between those two.

#7 if you count the planned Rocky Balboa figure for G.I. Joe.

                  hmm,.. but it's still Rocky.

I found a Schwarzenegger Expendables mini-mates figure so that kicks his total up to 7...

Another couple of actors have sprung to mind

                  Samuel L. Jackson (also 6)
                  Pulp Fiction
                  Shaft
                  Star Wars
                  The Spirit
                  Django Unchained
                  Avengers

Bruce Willis (also 6... although would be more if we counted mass-produced unlicensed figures)
                  Die Hard
                  Armageddon
                  Sin City
                  Pulp Fiction
                  Expendables 2
                  GI Joe Retaliation

Does the Turbo Man figure count for Arnold? He did dress up as him in the movie.

Johnny Depp is in contention, too. Lone Ranger, Pirates, Alice in Wonderland, Sweeney Todd, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Edward Scissorhands and Sleepy Hollow all have figures. If you count voice work, Rango and The Corpse Bride, too.

I had thought about Turbo Man, but considering the voice feature they gave it sounds like the toy from the movie, and not like Arnold, I'd have to go with believing that it's meant to represent the toy as seen in the film.

I'm not sure animated roles should count, as there are some voice actors who have worked on numerous cartoons and have had tons of figures made based on characters they have voiced. Sometimes dozens within the same show. The only exception I think to this should be, is when the animated character clearly is the actor it's based on.

But even without counting voice work, Mr Depp is so far has the lead...

                        Johnny Depp (total of 8)
                        Pirates of the Caribbean
                        Alice in Wonderland
                        The Lone Ranger
                        Sweeney Todd
                        Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
                        Sleepy Hollow
                        Edward Scissorhands
                        Platoon

maybe just if the cartoon is like them in appearance, Patrick Stewart in the Simpsons and American Dad would be a good example of this. Did Dark Shadows get any figures?

Ford would only be at 4. I don't think we're counting stuff like all of the different Star Wars or Indy movies. I believe it's for one of each.
