Wow. Looks absolutely nothing like JR.
He's more convincing as mitt romney perhaps?

I think a box would better suit the 12 inchers IMO. The card just doesn't seem quite right. Likeness wise I say it's ok but not quite there. Still kudos to them for going for it.

Does anyone seriously want a JR action figure, maybe some hardcore fan of the show?

This is a well done figure by every measure I can see. But the fact that most FTC 12 inch figures run $70.00 marked up from a $52.00 wholesale price, is no incentive to buy them. Add $10.00 to ship and they're really insanely priced. This might have been better served in the 8 inch arena. But then again, FTC might only be making 500 of these for those diehard collectors, so that might be why they aimed at the 12 inch format.

I don't think I could possibly care any less about these. Such a bizarre idea for a toyline. Recreate your favorite scenes of people sitting around talking. YAWN.

BUT, if they make Patrick Duffy, he can be the Man From Atlantis, so not all is lost.

I agree brother... What is the use? Waste of material... Waste of plastic.

Looks like a decent figure- but not much like JR Ewing.

I can't imagine there is much of a market for Dallas action figures.

Larry Hagman seems to be a tough likeness to sculpt. There's not many distinctive features. The sculpt looks young to me, almost like he looked in Jeannie.

Kind of looks like he could be a passable James West too.

The same could be said for Big Bang Theory.... Yawn. I don't get this line or see the likeness to Hagman.

If you've ever watched the show, The Big Bang Theory is a natural for action figures...the characters collect them and even tried last season to make
their own figures of themselves with a 3D printer.

Dallas however is a head-scratcher...The license must have been cheap if it was piggy-backed with other WB properties like
The Dukes, Batman and Gilligan's Island...

Hey,if another company can make 3 3/4" figures of Duck Dynasty, why can't someone make Dallas figures?

>Dallas however is a head-scratcher...

I dunno. If you look at a lot of their new stuff it's all 80's properties. I bet they're looking at cracking the casual collector's market. The folks who want something they can sit on their tv or in a cabinet and look at.... but who don't want to pay Hot Toys prices for them. Hence the shift to 12", which is more of an established collector's scale. (8" are still seen as toy-like.)

I think it's great they'd try something like this. It's a chance to expand the audience, and that's always a good thing. Will it work? Dunno, but if nobody tries we'll never know. There's a zillion people out there who aren't patrons of the nerdly arts who might go for something like Dallas or Gilligan's Island.

Even Mego was gonna try Dallas.

As for the sculpt; when you look at the different angles it doesn't look bad; but I think the plastic kinda brings it down. The lighter colour doesn't look realistic, and it washes out some of the features.

I'm a huge Dallas fan and I intend to buy both versions of the 12 inch J.R. Ewing. At the very least, if he does well enough for other characters to become action figures, I'd at least like to see figures of Bobby and Sue Ellen, so we'd have what they used to call themselves, the 3 musketeers. For Bobby, I would like to see a rancher version and oil man version. If they can do two of J.R, why not two of his bro. Anyway, I am definitely buying J.R. And if that were to do well, I'd like to see figures of Ray Krebbs and Cliff Barnes as well.
Go Dallas!!

I was looking forward to the Dallas line. Mostly for an I Dream of Jeannie Major Nelson custom. I think the JR figure looks great. The 12 inch body, though, has a tendency to pull to the left, which I can't seem to stop. He makes a great Major Nelson.

I purchased a J.R for the same reason....to make him Major Nelson. Great picture, where did you get the Major Nelson uniform? I really do believe that FTC should do the entire I dream of Jeannie cast in 8" form. Dr.Bellows, Mrs.Bellows, Major Healy, Col.Peterson and evil Jeannie (black hair version). It'll be a dream come true for me.

I used a Hot Toys Joker police uniform bought loose. I'd love a Jeannie line too.
