Brooke sent in a pile of cool clippings for Star Wars Mall Appearances, I love this one for Clover (?) stores which also hawks SW underwear, bedding and records. He also sent me this rare trading card.




I am so angry that I didn't think of this as a kid!

I love the ad. It really takes me back as these are all locations in and around Philadelphia.

BTW, the Clover Department stores were the discount version of the Philly-based Strawbridge & Clothier stores. S&C were more like Macy's while Clover were closer to Montgomery Ward. For the veterans here, you might remember my infamous past and nearly being arrested at a Clover Dept store. Those micronauts and their damn interchangeable parts!

That ad is marked 1990. The Star Wars property was ice cold at that point. Wonder how big a draw it could've been?
