Painting a Mego

I have a spare Lt. Uhura and want to make a custom Mystique figure. Is there any special preperation to paint her? Will the paint stick to the plastic? Any tips or advice?

If im painting resin head I use an acrylic primer I got from a hobby shop, but many guys say they just slap it on as long as its good paint.

Hmmmm....

An original Mego head will be tough to repaint, with any measure of durability. Automotive interior vinyl paint works good, and you might be able to find a good dark blue that'd cover the brown of the head. You'd need a different type of paint for the body though.
