Hey, kids! Smoke up! Superman Sweet Cigarettes from Primrose

By modern standards, candy cigarettes are a little shocking, I guess, but back when most of us were kids, they were common. When I found this pack of Superman Sweet Cigarettes from a U.K. eBay seller years ago, I had to have it.

the bonus was the awesome trading card inside with "original to the set" painted Superman artwork.

Nice! Ah the good ole days when people didn't look so deep into the psychology of every little product. I enjoyed getting candy cigarettes, but have never smoked a day in my life. What was so fun about those was the variety of artwork you would find on them. This is a very cool example. Nice score Steve!

Those are awesome! What in the world is superman doing to that shark? He needs some of Batman's anti-shark bat spray.

I love that card set. That was actually one of the first grails I scored when I started tracking down Superman stuff in the early 90's. Brings back great memories. thanks for sharing!

Cool! I picked up some Avengers and other Marvel candy sticks the other week (new ones).
They still taste the same as the vintage ones.

Ha! These are funny, especially in light of these:

I remember seeing these cards...I think it was in Comic Book Marketplace magazine? The artwork is interesting. Much looser than the 66 Batman Topps set.

Superman on a motorcycle? Did Mattel see these cards at some point?

^There are at least two more of those. I first saw them on a DVD full of commercials. I think Joe was selling them in the Mego Store years ago?

Superman looks very Brian Bolland-esque...and he could be, since these were done for the UK.

Is that copyright 1982? My eyes are failing me on trying to read it on the end credits.

I remember my mom got mad when I bought bubble gum cigars that blew (sugar) smoke! I don't smoke either. But that Superman pack w/ trading card is very cool.

And I love that PSA Chris.
