I have been a huge fan of Firestorm since I started collecting comics and decided to spend some free time making my own Mego Firestorm.
The results were better than I could have hoped!
I started with a Mego Iron Man, put two screws in his head to hold the modeling clay flames and then re-painted the head. I was so worried that my hand wasn't going to be steady enough to get the face detail right but I surprised myself.
For the costume, I got the parts (red jumpsuit, yellow torso piece, white belt, yellow boots and gloves) from Dr. Mego. Then, I customized the torso piece with a make-your-own t-shirt iron on kit and modified the belt with a red dot.
The least stressful part for me was designing the window box and I couldn't have done that without the Mego Museum's archives.
Thanks for all the help!
Ben
