Assuming Figures does indeed get around to making all new DC Re-Mego characters, would you want some figures to have the old oven mitts just to keep them truly Mego-esque?

Say yellow oven mitts on Dr. Fate for instance?

My logic is if they were to dump the oven mitts completely in favor of molded plastic gloves or colored hands, the more figures they make, it's just gonna make the few figures that have the mitts stand out more and more as the line goes on.

Eventually they'll look out of place, don't you agree?

I'd rather see colored hands and cuffs like Green Goblin.

Yeah, only the earliest WGSH had the oven mitts. I think the Fantastic Four should be the model going forward (heat sealed emblem and plastic molded gloves).

Being as I don't have any original WGSH, I want the ones that originally came with OM to have them. The new DC characters they make should have the molded hands. If they ever got the Marvel license, I wouldn't want my Hulk to have OM.

But how am Hulk supposed to get cookies out of hot oven?

The open hand and fist gloves they sell look fantastic on a figure, I think they should use them as they move forward. You could also buy extras and convert swap the oven mitts the early waves are using if you want a consistent look to your collection.

Funny you post this, John and I were just talking about it. Since they have the Cataway style gloves that look more fitting , I think they should right a long time wrong!

I'm nostalgic about the oven mitts but practically the colored hands and cuffs work much better. I'm anxious to see the molded fist gloves I ordered from CTVT but I'm afraid Batmans gonna look like he's wearing Hulk Hands, Sheldon Cooper style.

that is a good question. Putting on those silly oven mitts is a pain. I just got in an original Batman outfit to replace my well used one and I forgot how hard it is. I am thinking about buying the CTVT molded gloves to see how they look.

I've always disliked those oven mitts.

NO.

Do them on the ones who had 'em. Then move on like MEGO did. Green Arrow didn't have mitts.

I want to see them as mego did them.
Maybe ctvt can make gloves later but they should do these the way mego made them.
New figures could have the colored hands and cuffs because that's the way mego was progressing.

Hopefully, at some point a batman w/o the mitts will happen, but It's fun to get an exact replica.

For all the MEGO re-issue figures...MITTS! For any new DC characters MEGO didn't make they should go with colored hands and cuffs.

Why not have coloured hands and cuffs, with optional mitts packed for those who want to use them?

I prefer colored hands.

Speaking of which, I wish there would have improved female mannequin hands. Look at the hands of the Breyer 8" dolls. They are perfect: vintage style, larger, and can pick up accessories. Would be a small but great improvement that does not betray the look of the figure.

Maybe they could do coloured hands and cuffs under the oven mitts? That way people could display them both ways?

Most likely you are going to get a reproduction. Which means the figure will be a reproduction of the original. You will have to be the ones to change the gloves from oven mitts to the molded gloves on their website. They are not going to make any changes to a reproduction figure. I'm betting the oven mitts will be what they do.
As much as I despised them, it won't break my bank to replace them with the molded ones with the fingers..etc.

I agree. The big question is, how will the mitts be? Past runs of CTVT gloves have been thick & shiny, not very appealing aesthetically or very close to Mego originals.

But the question is in regards to NEW figures that Mego never made. We all know the repros will have oven mitts.
