Anyone know how to safely remove hands from vintage 12" Megos?

For past projects, I've been able to pull the hands out of 8" Megos using the old hot water trick, but am having a hard time doing it with the vintage 12"ers.

BTW, I am trying to pull out the full hand, stem and all. Should I focus on pushing out the pin joining the hand piece to the stem piece (the stem fits inside the lower arm piece)?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Maybe a little longer soak in VERY hot water.Bring water to a boil in the microwave and put forearm/wrist in and let sit for 2 minutes or so.You can remove hand from wrist joint by removing wrist pin and use a tool to get better leverage if you want.Post 14 here:http://megomuseum.com/community/show...forearms/page2
