    Apologies, basic help please

    Hey all,

Apologies for this basic help but this will be my first complete custom.

I have just bought a female Mego body and the bald female head from Dr Mego but looking at it, i have no idea how to attach it. I get the whole boil and pop method, used it tonnes of times on some Star Trek figures, however I don't know what to do with the little clip that's holding the band in the neck.

I hope all this makes sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Take care,
    Matty-lad

If you're talking a resin head, boil and pop won't do it.

I don't think I've ever seen the neck on these. Can you post a pic?
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

Does the resin head have a neck or is there a hole in the bottom of the head for the neck to plug into?

You shouldn't need to remove the clip or the neck if there is just a hole. You should be able to just plug the neck into it, with perhaps a bit of drilling and sanding to ensure fit.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

          Hey all,

Thank you all so much for the replies. The resin head does have a hole in the bottom for the neck plug. I have tried just plugging it in and the little clip just gets in the way. The clip can be seen in the EMCE pic here:-

Can you just carefully make the hole deep enough to allow for the clip? Otherwise you'll probably need to mod the neck and restring.

              Hello again all,

That's what I just did. I got out my drill and made the hole in the neck deeper to accomodate the clip. Not it fits perfectly.

I'll post a picture of the finished Star Trek item once I've painted the face.

              Take care,
              Matty-lad
