Maybe I'm asking too many questions on this forum? Anyway, what songs or soundtracks do you all like from which movies? I like "Do Ya Wanna Party/ Its Party Time" from Return of The Living Dead, and "Pet Semetary" by the Ramones from Pet Semetary. As far as an entire soundtrack,I don't think you can beat Alien-it basically didn't have one but what little it did made the mood all the more eerie feeling.

I'm not sure if this counts as a soundtrack .........
But I think Star Trek Classic's THE DOOMSDAY MACHINE score was about as good as good can get.
I must listen to Vision Quest. It is a great pre competition album. (I usually skip the madonna songs)

It's very hard to beat the John Williams' Superman and original Star Wars soundtracks.
As a kid, I was really into the opening theme song in The Black Hole... it really sets the mood with the opening graphics. Probably the best part of the movie.
On a similar subject... I was impressed enough with the American Beauty soundtrack to go buy it... very interesting and emotional, melancholy music. Since then, I have heard the exact same music on preview trailers and commercials for a bunch of other movies.
I had never noticed this practice before. Anybody out there in the biz that knows what the thinking is behind this?

Hmmmm.... ad music is usually whatever studio stuff they have lying around; or they tie it in with something that's currently popular, especially if done by a band that's owned by a company that's part of the corp family.
As for best monster song/soundtrack. The Godzilla march; of course! (You all know what I'm referring to. Admit it!)

I like listening to the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack by Basil Poledouris. The Anvil of Crom is just way too cool...especially when driving.

Some of you are including non-horror films.
Shouldn't you automatically assume it should be from a horror flick?
I mean, this is the Monster Movie Roundtable forum after all.
Isn't it?

I know this is really not original music from any of the Phantom of the Opera films (it's obviously from Johann Sebastian Bach's, Toccota in D minor), but it's now forever tied with the Phantom of the Opera, and it has to be the most memorable "monster" associated musical piece...
