I noticed these at Rebel Scum, pictures of the New Mattel Batman line for the movie. Some are good, some are downright weird. I think the overall tone of the Dark Knight isn't great for kid's toys.

Uggh! Most of those are horrible! I don't know who that is masquerading under the cape and cowl but that sure ain't Batman! Too many gadgets!

The six inch figures look nice, but the 5 inch ones look like the Begins figures that were left over were just repackaged. Shouldn't have expected more though. I'll be down for the standard figures in both sizes though, and my kid will want them, even if I question whether or not I will take him to see this...

Gee, who would have thought they would make oodles of non movie paint ops batmen (SARCASM) Kenner did it for years and made boatloads of money and Mattel did the same thing with thier BAS lines and with JL/JLU. I am so glad I no longer try to complete collections like these

You know, Ever since I started collecting Batman Figures,.. I have never boughten one of these "weirdo Batmen" . However, Once my Son came along,... then purchases were & still are made. Kids do buy this crap... , for some reason. If they didn't, they would have stopped doing this with BTAS. It's lame though, I think the DC Universe Classics are going to be ever so difficult to find, because stores are going to stock heavy on this stuff. :muh:

That green abomination one of the versions is holding might make a cool Luthor kryptonite gun for 8".

I've never been too fond of the "busy" looking high tech batsuits.

I really wish they would have a more traditional looking batman for the films.

The Ironman Figures Are far Superior to these,.. from what I have scene. The people in charge of Marketing for the Batman Movie figures , should re-think thier game plan.

I'm sure Hasbro will find a way to muck up the Iron Man line, too.

Y'know, regards of whether you liked the movie or not... at least the Superman Returns toys were 98% plain old Superman. No 50 types of repaints... just Supes in his blue and red, and Lex... in outfits seen in the movie. Even the TRU silver Supes was seen in the movie. (The house of EL set doesn't count.)

For Movie Toys, they were Pretty cool. & You are Right, none of those ''weirdo Batmen'' crap either. I picked a few up for me & my Boy to play with,.. not bad.

Agreed, although the movie didn't scream toys, they created figures to show off a specific power. While the line didn't do much for me, I was surprised how many my son asked for and got from his grandparents.

Mattel is in a weird spot with these Batman figures, the movie isn't real kid friendly but they need to fill the big "Summer Blockbuster" endcap in TRU and Wal-Mart.
