Wierd ? Do 3 3/4 figure have a screw in the thigh...
Ok let the jokes begin... but seriously do Dukes/Chips.Buck/Black Hole figures feature thighs that can taken apart? I mean do they have a small screw on the inside of the thigh to take them apart?
2 part upper thigh helps make a smoother/stronger knee joint, as well being necessary for the ball jointed metal "t" hook that's inside the pelvis.
It makes a ton more sense once you've taken one (or like 50) apart.
I became well versed in the 3 3/4 body construction while repairing 80's gi joes in the 90's.
Yup. Without it, the upper thigh has to be made of a softer plastic, and the knee joint is weaker. With it, it is a two part thigh and the knee pin goes all the way through, sandwiching the lower leg.
Compare that to Kenner's best of the west line, which are frequently found with missing lower legs due to poor design.
Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figures
