The story seems like a blatant rip-off of DS9's Trials and Tribblations and maybe a little TNG First Contact (the movie)

I'm still trying to keep an open Mind...and I'm withholding judgement, until I see the final Film.

I could see myself being semi-excited about this film--that is if Shatner was on board. I think the Romulans make for awesome villains (when done correctly that is) so I've got no problem with that. If this movie is successful however, I do hope this is the last one that has to do with freakin time travel. Enough with that already.

the rumors are flying fast and furious this weekend....Now it seems they are not only bouncing between times, but alternate dimensions. In one, the Enterprise is a warship (ala Yesterdays Enterprise), and according to the stories, will look nothing like what we've seen before ...which may explain the gold colored bridge, and the funky warp nacelles....
Actually, I'm starting to think some of these rumors may be spin doctoring by JJ and crew to throw everyone off the scent. Good luck with that...I'm sure in another month or so, the script will be on-line !!

One thing I really pleased with, is the casting of Zackery Quinto as Spock! After catching up on a Season, and a half of "Heros"...I'm absolutely convinced He will make an EXCELLENT young Spock!

Sounds more like they're getting their excuses in early to me...."Let's throw some of it in an alternate dimension ...that way if it's hated by the fans we can say don't worry it didn't really happen"

                        * William Shatner MAY AS YET make an appearance in the new Star Trek film. Don’t count him out until it’s December, and then with a guy like J.J. Abrams pulling all the shots, he may just be planning on surprising longtime Trek fans with an extra Christmas Day present. Buck up and just do it, Shat.
