This auction has been a hot topic of discussion at the office today.

    9533.68 a piece?

zounds! Outstanding. It will be great to see what other gems this seller pulls out of his investment.

Crazy. So is it generally understood in the SW community that all of these bids were legit? I guess I didn't know that Kenner production pieces brought this sort of loot.

Some that other stuff in the photo are rare. I wonder who's collection this belong to?

Spending more than a few hundred on a toy is a big decision for me. I feel like such a bottom feeder in comparsion to this auction's winner.

The only thing I have in common with this guy is the sofa.

If I walked into a living room and saw that, I'd crap my pants.

The 3 packs (there are 16, 7 Star Wars and 9 Empire) are all very very scarce. Even the most common ones come up maybe only 1 or 2 times a year.

These 3 sets in the auction are considered the toughest to find, but still, I thought maybe $12-15K. I think this auction is entering uncharted territority. I suppose it is possible that not all the bidders are legit. I have no evidence either way.

I have 8 of these now (halfway to a complete set!), but this auction is very disheartening for me. I didn't spend anywhere near this amount for mine; in fact I spent significantly less for all 8 that I own, and they are all C8-9.5, very nice, and factory sealed.

I may never be able to afford these 3 in the auction in any condition, and that's a real bummer.

I think it's more than obvious that this collection was a wish granted by Jeannie in that bottle there! Yikes, that's a lot of cool stuff!

Here's a discussion over at RS if anyone is interested:

Is this normal? Am I missing something here in terms of extreme rarity? Lot 3 NIP Star Wars Empire Strikes Back Special Offer 3 Pack Action Figures 1979 | eBay

Some of the guys over there seem to think that $28K was a great deal.

Something else to put on my list to get when I finally invent that time machine. Makes me extremely glad I was a bit too old for toys when Star Wars was released and therefore have no interest in collecting them today.
