meh, KISS fan at heart and these have zero appeal to me.
Get Destroyer, Dynasty, Creatures in the mix - then they have my attention...looking forward to the Sonic Boom figs too.
$60 a pop for those 12" figs in first year outfits (assuming they'll follow pricing structure of previous release) is just too much. At least the previous release had a particular nostalgia nitch to fill.
8" version of these might be doable just to add to the collection - but honestly not a must-have scenario for me.
edit - err, just looked at their site and the 12" figs are $69.99 ....umm, isn't that $10 higher than the previous set?Last edited by noelani72; Sep 12, '12, 3:13 PM. -
I love the first year outfits better than any of the others so I'm digging these in a big, big way. Winterland Ballroom style.
I didn't pick up the first set, but I'm all over this set. 8" of course.Expectation is the death of discovery.Comment

clearly I am in the minority - so why is that?
Can you guys explain the appeal to me?
I also saw they are doing an exclusive Hotter Than Hell Gene and as Boss mentioned already, the Bandit Paul.
The only thing I dig on this First LP figs are:
Gene's face without tongue & his makeup
Peter's makeup.
Thaaaat's really bout it.Comment

What appeals to me is the leather outfits they wore in 73-75 or so. Those have always been my favorite. I lose interest once it becomes Dynasty and they hire designers who make it all disco Broadway garbage. It's not the look of a rock band to me.
This is my favorite look: This is nothing but cool.

Check out the Winterland Ballroom show from 74, I think. It's filmed in black and white and is just FANTASTIC!! A number of songs used to be on YouTube, I don't know if they still are.Expectation is the death of discovery.Comment

Interesting that these will actually be available in toy and record stores. I'll need to see them close up to determine if I want them. The first ones were a little deceptive in their advertising because the hair was not style as advertised. It was just a straight root which, for me, drastically altered how good they looked. Once again these are shown with curled hair. But will the production pieces have that? I can definitely say it's a bonus to have these available at local retail outlets. The savings on shipping would be huge here.Last edited by MIB41; Sep 12, '12, 5:01 PM.Comment
