My first custom!

Hi! I hope you all like my first custom.:) I'd like to meet Tamar for the planet Zolton.

The head, purple body and boots were courtesy of Joe D. The cape, jumpsuit, and belt were from Doc Mego. I have to admit, I was a little confused about this head at first. I didn't know it was a Space 1999 head. When I saw the pic of it on Joe's site, I thought it was purple, not flesh tone. Needless to say I was a little surprised when it arrived. So I took a purple fine point Sharpie and colored his brow. I think it makes him look more menacing. don't you? I added glitter stickers from my own collection for the emblems on the jumpsuit.

So what do you think?

Why did you stop with the Sharpie? This guy needs to be seriously purple.

Hmmm...I didn't wanna overdo it. It's my first, and I'm a little nervous about changes. It took me a while to get up the nerve to use the Sharpie, I didn't wanna do something I couldn't take back. It's a subtle difference, but I like it.:yes:

Making the decision to permanently alter a head is a big step, but you've already gone past the point where you can restore it to its original condition. If you're not happy with the ink, you can always cover it with paint.

Great job on your first custom. If you want a purple head just get some acrylic paint in the color you like and some small brushes. You would be amazed at how easy it can be to repaint a head if you take your time doing it:biggrin:

I think you need to make a Mrs. for the poor guy though....never noticed before now, just how depressed Mego sculpted this guy!

I wouldn't paint the head. I would use a RIT dye and just color saturate the head.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. But I don't think I'm gonna paint Tamar's head. But if any of you guys wanna make a purple head to sell, I might be persuaded to buy it!:grin:

Looks good. Like Megotu said, RIT purple dye will take care of that head for you.

I think she's a girl. but she does look depressed, but that's not the fault of the customizer, maybe whoever sculpted the face was in a bad mood that day :silly:. NICE JOB
