    Bionic Doodles

Recently at a toy show I found this fun tube, the dealer said to me "I've never seen one of those before, apparently it's a Canada only thing" Seeing as he didn't want very much for it, I picked it up and have since, not been able to find much information on it.

It is however, a terribly fun item, more pics after the jump.

So what it is basically is a tennis ball can with Lee Majors face on it, inside are three bionic man posters along with six Bic banana markers (the kind Charles Nelson Reily uses!) and well that's it. I can't open this without destroying it (which might explain why I've never seen one before) but the outside of the can shows the posters.

Steve appears to be using X-Ray vision to survey a hostage situation, he had that power right?

Steve breaks in, the man had a thing against doors.

Steve beats the kidnappers with a girder, **** got very real. Hope this set includes a red marker, gonna need it to depict the kidnapper's brain tissue spewing out of their eye sockets.

Hey! Does this count as Coloring Book Theatre?
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

I remember having a few vintage Marvel doodle sets... Spidey, Cap and Hulk, also packaged similarly to that in cylindrical containers.

Wow, that's an interesting packaging concept. I bet it got overlooked a lot though. Not a lot of surface to advertise what's inside, is there?

The artwork isn't bad, though. They managed to capture Majors with very minimal line usage. Nice!

That's a blast. Even the inaccurate powers is a great example of what most product was like back in the day. Licensing was so broad base, you could practically reinvent the character. After all, if the Flash could fly in the Super friends, why not give Steve Austin X-ray vision?

If it says "No.2" does that mean there is a No.1 as well?

Love the green cloud of body odor coming out of Steve's bionic armpit...or is that leaking hydraulic fluid?
