    Colonel Sanders in Canada

CBC archives - Canada's home for news, sports, lifestyle, comedy, arts, kids, music, original series & more.

I had forgotten that Colonel Sanders moved to Canada in the sixties. I still remember Scott's Chicken Villas.

Kinda weird the KFC # ended 4444, Mia's is 3333. But I guess I'm the only one that looks for that kind of stuff. On another not , that KFC smells stays around forever, but so does Indian food. Can just imagine what that building smells like

I just bought a bucket of KFC the other day for the first time in at least 15 years. Honestly it was pretty horrible.
True Fact: Col. Sanders was father in law to serial killer John Wayne Gacy.

My grandmother was his personal secretary for almost 30 years. I have old home videos of him holding me as a baby. I also attended his funeral. I never really met him though.

He moved to Canada with his restaurants after he sold the franchise rights in the US. The deal did not include Canada, effectively giving him free reign to continue his franchising in the Great White North.

Exactly! What most people don't know is that in the 60's and 70's they actually "processed" the chickens at each location. The Colonel wanted the chicken to be fresh. I don't recognize the stuff they serve today. Steroid laced and way overpriced for what you get. Complete rip off today.

^Yep. I don't eat there often, but I actually prefer the strips and popcorn chicken to the "real" stuff nowadays. It's often overcooked and dry or undercooked and almost wet. There seems to be no inbetween. Lots of skin and not much meat either.
