What size o-ring for the Mego 3 3/4" figures?

Does anyone know the size of the rubber o-rings that go in the 3 3/4" figures? I'm guessing I can get them at a hardware store, right?

I'm pretty sure they are the same as the GI Joe ones....not sure about the size, but here's an auction on Ebay selling them....Hope that helps

I just tried to use some Joe rings, but they were a little too thick. I had 2 rings from my Palisades Micronaut Medic fig, and they worked great... but that's all I had. I was just wondering if someone knew the exact size to tell the hardware store...

Someone on Ebay was selling 'Micronaut o-rings' awhile back and I bought a bag. When I received the shipment, I thought they looked way too small. They worked, but were more difficult to use, being so small. As an aside, you are better to buy in bulk from someone online. You go to a hardware store and expect to pay .13 (or more) an o-ring.

            Various Sizes

It can vary. Some O rings vary in size per figure. Some parts are made purpose specific. I do a lot of customizing and have run into problems finding hardware or replacement pieces because they were made specifically for one purpose or one product. There are various sizes you can use as replacements and different companies have different ways of categorizing them.

The stiffer you want your figure the tighter or smaller you want your O ring. Take one of your figures apart and take the O ring with you to the hardware store. Open up a O ring kit if they arent sealed and then you can match it up or at the very least get a make and model number for future use.

I would tell you, but I have so many different sizes laying around, I dont know which ones are the original size and which ones arent. lol I just keep switching em up and using whichever one feels good with the figure. lol.

The problem I have is that hardware-store o-rings are not as "rubbery" as the o-rings in the figures. I feel they put a lot of stress on the fittings.

Has anyone found the "rubbery" type of o-rings??????

                Hmmmm....

You might be able to improvise with a couple of bands like they use for braces, or get some stretchy fabric and sew up a few on your own.

Instead of a hardware store, have you tried checking out a store that specializes in plumbing?

I had a mom and pop hardware store that had a sorted box of individual rings sorted by size so I could get as many of only the size I needed without getting stuck with a kit. Unfortunately it closed a few months ago. If you can find a store like that it might be worth it.

Do you have a plumbing supply warehouse near you?? I work for a plumbing supply warehouse and we get home owners in all the time looking for "O" rings all the time. Try a plumbing supply warehouse...if they have good counter people they should be able to help you find what you are looking for. Hope that helps.

You could also ask Acroray some advice. He knows a lot of people in the Micronauts community and may know someone who sells the right type of rings.

I got Joe ones from "The O-Ring Store": http://www.theoringstore.com/index.p...50gjh6vh9mlvd4

And I've used them for MEGO figs but, yeah, they're a little bulky. This guy may have some better options.

I'm in the same situation with the Ardala, BA Baracus, and Murdoch figures I have. They're in the need of replacement rings.

I've used o-rings marketed for GI Joes on Megos and I've had no issue.
