How Mant Times Have You Checked Your Collection Since The Book Came Out?

As I learn more and more about my own collection, I've found myself putting down Benjamin's book to check things in my collection. Which of the three Lizard boxes do I own The second). Do I have a rare Joker card (no, but it is a Grand Toys version). And so on and so on.

Have you gone back to check out your stuff?

The book definitely led me to peruse my shelves once more and also to start grabbing some of those WGSH I've been missing. I think its really really great that there is now a new STANDARD GUIDE for all things WGSH. Bravo Benjamin!

I agree with you both. In fact, I spent the past four years doing the exact same thing.

I remember how excited I was when I realized that, within my own collection, I could photo-document each of the four different 1st Issue Super-Foes card variants for the book. When I had the revelation, I was so excited, I called Rob immediately to explain my findings. Rob wasn't as hot on packaging at that time, so he kindly humored me. Now, Rob knows more about packaging than I do, but that's beside the point.

Quite unintentionally, I had managed to collect the following:

      1) 1st Issue/1st Version (Mego) Riddler
      2) 1st Issue/1st Version (Kresge) Joker
      3) 1st Issue/2nd Version (Mego) Penguin
      4) 1st Issue/2nd Version (Kresge) Mr. Mxyzptlk

Luckily, those four particular specimens cover the gamut of 1st Issue Foes cards.

In fact, repeatedly examining my own collection facilitated several break-through realizations regarding the 1st Issue/3rd Version "Kresge Reorder" and 1st Issue/4th Version "FOB Hong Kong" cards (p. 62 and p. 94, respectively, in the book).

I'm glad you are both experiencing what I took great pleasure in doing. Isn't it nice to take time to really stop and appreciate what is often right in front of us?

      Benjamin
