    1982 Meccano Action Man Catalog

    Meccanno Action Man 1982

Palitoy Action Man wasn't just marketed to children in the UK it also spread to countries such as France, where Miro-Meccano brought the fuzzy haired, eagle eyed soldiers to market.

In addition to 12" figures, Meccano also brought in the popular 3 3/4" Action Force line that was very popular at the time..

So were Action Force and RAH developed simultaneously, or did AF follow RAH's lead?

They beat Hasbro to the punch with ninjas!

The Action Man Space Ranger series looked cool. Could have done without the "Space Ranger" sticker on the chest though.

I think if people look at classic lines like GI Joe and even Big Jim, they will see a vastly expanded selection in other countries. It's amazing to see how much longer these figure lines ran overseas after their demise in America.

Action Force was produced by Palitoy on their own because their Star Wars line was outselling Action Man. That's why the figures have that limited articulation.

When Hasbro bought Palitoy, they scrapped the figures and just reissued RAH figures as Action Force.

it looks like the snow mobile driver is just the ESB Hoth han figure only slightly modded. I also see some shades of other Star Wars figers in the others.
Zombie? Vampire? Evil clown?!? Yes, please.
