    Vintage Dad pics--Happy Father's Day

I don't have access to pics of my Dad in full 70's regalia, but here we are on his Triumph motorcycle. I road on the gas tank and held onto the handlebar. (***?!) Life in the 70's, how did we survive?

Happy Father's day, post a pic of your 70s dad if you have one.

My Dad's front tooth was missing like Leon Spinks. He never had it fixed until he was in his fifties, so I have quite a few of the Elvide sideburns missing a tooth.

I too rode on my Dad's gas tank, but the bike was a Harley. My wife would blow a fuse if I did that with our sons on one of my bikes.

My stepdad holding my little brother, and looking at my mom, her sister, and me wonder why he's the one burping a baby...this was probably '76 or '77..not exactly sure what year my brother was born. -Chris

I was telling my wife last night how often I was left alone in the car when my parents ran errands in town. You'd end up on the 11 o'clock news doing that today.

Say, is your sister (in the yellow shirt) named Sharon?

Yeah, my dad used to let me ride on "the kid seat", which was actually the armrest in his Caddy. (remember those?)

                    Cute pic, Scott.

I found a few 70s-era photos of me and my Pop

This one is WAY early. That's me he's holding. I think he's asleep! Or the pattern of that couch induced nausea. This was in our living room!

Another couch, and another pic of us on it. This was regular ritual. My dad would come in from work dog-tired, and I'd climb on him and we'd watch cartoons, Batman, what have you. I was a lot younger than I look, probably 2 or so. I was just a BIG kid.

I referred to that couch as the "Zinger" couch. It looked like those Dolly Madison Zingers!

This is a Christmas photo with my maternal grandparents, uncles, aunt and cousins. Notice how my Dad's clothes are pretty timeless? He defied 70s fashions as best he could. I never saw him in ANYTHING plaid or paisley.

But check out me and my sister in our Shaun Cassiday shirts. I love my Mother dearly (god rest her soul), but that was just wrong to do that to me.

Oh wow! Hey Chris, you got any more pics of you and your sis in those Shaun Cassidy (not Cassiday) shirts? I'd love to use it on the fan page of my website!

I figured you'd like that, Sharry.

I know there is another picture floating around somewhere, that shows us proudly displaying our shirts (or my sister proudly displaying, I look bemused). It's from the same Christmas. Even more disturbing, it was probably 30 degrees outside at the time!

I'll see if I can dig it up.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled parade of cool dad photos.

Actually that's my mother in the yellow shirt and glasses and her youngest sister. But no Sharon's in my family
