    Tootsie Cars?

Digging stuff out for the yard sale I'm going to have soon. I pulled out a small bag of Tootsie cars. The red fire truck is a Midge Toys and the crane-like thing is unmarked.

Are these worth anything? At least worth putting on eBay rather than out at a yard sale?

Yep!!! Tootsie toy vehicles. Especially the older ones sell. paint loss has'nt stopped sales either. I think tootsie went out of business late 70"s early 80's.
The hard rubber looking blue cars maybe Auburn toys, but you can only tell by the wheels.
The crane might be from a toy trainset?

I think the rubber cars only say MADE IN TAIWAN or just TAIWAN.

Tootsie Toys were always a bit of an anomaly. They always looked strangely out of place amongst other toy vehicles being produced, oddball remnants from some bygone era. They looked like toys that were produced in the 1940's, not the 70's and 80's. What kid wanted Tootsie cars when Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars were all the rage? I must admit, they do have a certain charm.

There are collectors out there. I think most the ones I sold were in same condition as yours. One buyer told me he likes to remove old paint from the metal ones and re-paint with auto paint. Others just leave them be. I guess its all part of that Patina thing.
