Who invented 'Fists and Foot Fighters'.

I don't remember ever smashing my Mego together to simulate a battle. Oh, they battled. They threw punchs, kicked, and head-butted each other. Just not in a way to damage the dolls structure. I remember invited friends, who would each firmly grip one leg of a doll and proceed to try and bash the other doll to pieces. I now call it Fists and Foot Fighters Action. Seems the less a kid knew about the characters the more they had to up the violence.
"I don't know who you are, but I must win this battle at all cost. Take that, this and some more!"
"I think I may be the hero, I'm not sure. Nevertheless, I must try to win this battle by the standard you have set. So hold on to your plastic pieces!"
I recall that over the decades that followed, I'd often see kids playing with vintage megos the same way. If they had only learn to hold on to the head, they could have had 'Fists and Feet Fighters'.
