Just read in the questions thread, that the TV-series/movie, the toy line is based, must have been released before January 1rst, 1978. I'm not sure, if Battlestar Galactica qualifies for this? Would be interesting to find out, if Mattel already had the 3 3/4" BSG figures in their 1978 catalog, or only in the 1979 one.

Battlestar Galactica aired on September 17 in 1978, I think that's cutting it a little too close. A real shame tho, caused I would've loved seeing this line in the catalogue.
Hmmm, maybe they could be included as "coming soon", sort of a preview?

Will we likely be doing this again next year? I think BSG could be submitted for the next catalog, Re-Imagine 1979? I have spoken at great length with Georg about doing these and he has big plans but I don't know if they could be completed in time for this catalog.

Too soon to tell. Next year is a long way off and since we haven't done this one yet and it's bound to be a ton of work there's no guarantee we'd do it again.
It's a moot point if the customs aren't done. I don't recommend posting submissions without pictures or if your project isn't ready to go.

I don't think, the series would qualify for the catalog due to the release date, but since you ask for it, here are some pics:

Certainly sets an early benchmark if there is a 79 re-imagine...

The head for Apollo is done, but not painted yet. Actually I do have two different versions, but one looks more like Zac, his brother in the pilot movie.

wow, nice work so far. Falls right in with Mego's design sense. As far as if this would go in the 78 catalog, would the makers of BSG have shopped the rights to this around before it debuted on tv?

Whoa, now that would have been something I would have been all about if Mego would have done them! B-Star Galactica would have been awesome with the Mego touch! Still think Buck Rogers 8" line would have totally been awesome too!

8" Buck Rogers line? This is my parallel project to the BSG. I've reduced all the 12" Buck Rogers heads to 8" scale and added a Col. Wilma Deering. Princess Ardala is in the works.
IMO, Buck Rogers and BSG just go together.
