This wasn't scheduled to start running until 1/21:

YouTube - Star Trek (2008) Teaser Trailer (Leaked) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnOBCNqf-AM)

Looks nice, if very simple and unimaginative. I don't like Nimoy saying "continuing voyages", and then "ongoing mission". It's redundant. Just say voyages.

Just a small nitpick.

The first link wouldn't work...

Is that the movie Enterprise in space-dock ?

The warp engines don't look round..
Also, the ship's belly is too big.
Looks like the A version

*Sigh*

Apparently, this trailer is a very well done fake...?

Which is actually kinda relieving. I'm sure the real one will be something different than what we've seen before.

I'm calling shenanigans. The music and VO is from the close of Wrath of Khan, IIRC.

It wasn't bad, but they shouldn't have used the Enterprise-A

If it weren't for that, I might have believed it.

Did anyone else notice that there didn't seem to be any stars, just planets racing by?

I still don't think I'm gonna be onboard w/ this one. If DS9 or Voyager (or even Enterprise) wanted to branch out onto the big screen, then fine. But remaking the original crew just looks like they're grasping at straws and trying to hard. I mean, c'mon, a TV series, a cartoon series, and 6 movies, (well 7 if you count Enterprise). They're just not gonna do any better, or recapture any of the magic.

LET THE ORIGINAL ALONE!

It's the perspective of the shuttle as it travels past the planets in our system on its way to Earth. You can see dim pinpoints of distant stars in some of the shots.

The real teaser is out on Friday. Paramount is rumored to have kiboshed a heavily reworked Enterprise, and told the producers they had to use the classic Enterprise design (although I hear the interiors are way out to lunch). Problem is, People who have seen a sneak preview of Cloverfield, saw this new teaser and it clearly shows the movie era Enterprise saucer section being built on the ground at the San Francisco ship yards???

AICN was running this teaser trailer yesterday. I was hoping it was the real thing.

Guess we'll have to wait till Fri to see the real thing.

I'm sorry to say the trailer looks kinda lame. Grab Spock's voice-over from Khan, some Next Generation theme, and show a shuttle flyby toward an Enterprise in spacedock? Even if the trailer doesn't hint at any sort of storyline, I'd like to see more. That's what trailers all the previous Trek movies have done.

Airdave, the teaser you're referring to from my original post was previously revealed to be a fake. The actual teaser will be showing up this weekend. Here's a still from it:
