View Full Version : 2012 MegoMeet Exclusive

Hey,
My father had prostate cancer surgery, then went into a miriad of complications. Needless to say, my life has not been normal for a while. He is fine now, and back home, but as many people have noticed, I went off the grid for a while due to this.
However, at least on this I hope better late than never. This is my last MegoMeet Exclusive that I will do. I have turned the reigns over to another museum member (I will let him introduce himself later), but I plan on going out on a bang. This is my most ambitious project ever, and if it works it will be fantastic. If it does not it will be a collosal mess.
So I am going to be optimistic. Due to the complexity of what I am doing, this years figure will be $90. I know that is a lot, but when you figure out what I am planning and see the end result, I hope you will think it very worth it.
So, late but as usual, here are the three clues to wet your appetite on the figure. I will post the answer by May 1st (more clues MIGHT follow). As always, if you figure it out, do not post it here, although you can post that you know what it is if you like.
Here we go:
1) This figure was never produced by Mego, but it was produced by another famous toy company that shares the same original alphabeticatory feature.
2) Never released in 6" size. Nor 8" size. Nor 10" size. Nor 3 3/4" size. Would probably have been beyond the technical abilities of the manufacturers of the day.
3) Probably unrecognizable. Let's see - anyone remember??

First off glad to hear your Dad is feeling better.
Knowing how much you've put into this project I'm hoping it will be a great success. The design has been over two years in the planning. Pulling it off will be a tremendous accomplishment. Best of luck and let the guessing begin.

I took "shares the same original alphabeticatory feature." to mean that it starts with the same first letter.

Chris,
Glad to see you back - I know how elderly parents can throw your life out
of orbit - and then get back to normal.
The sad thing is that you have told me what character you are doing, but I
can't remember it to save my life. Maybe all these years of casting is
killing my brain cells earlier than expected?

"alphabeticatory"
...spelling bee flashback. May I have the definition, please? Can you please use the word in a (different) sentence? :wink_y:

Hey,
OK, so I made it up. Sue me.
Meaning: being of, or related to, an alphabetical nature.

:smiley1: Cool. Coincidentally, I'm on a mission to introduce a new word to the English language: "unicate," meaning to talk to one's self. Just need to figure out how to make $$ from that...

looks like its time for another clue Chris . . . Have an heart . . .
well since LEGO sued over MEGO it could be something they did. though they don't put out action figures, they represent many characters as legos. not that this would narrow it down much.

Oh - Mattel put out 6 million dollar man but not in those sizes. doing his features may have been difficult then.

Hey,
OK.
Read #3 very carefully. Not a Haiku, but I did take some liberties in the wording that should spell it out for you.

I can't wait to see how you pull off the rocket firing fists. ;)
I've always wanted one of these done in Tomland style - this is even better.

sorry about that Brue.
the views espoused in this thread are the views of rche inc. and not necessarily those of the Mego meet, nor Mr. DVM himself. :smiley1:
I thought Chris' last clue was spelled out fairly plainly. :smiley1:

This thread should be backed-up on a disk
This thread should be backed-up on a disk
as if the transparency of the clues wasn't difficult enough, the disc drive would be enough to give you a headache.
I'm going back to rocket firing fists. Or maybe shoulder mounted missile launchers. Yeah.
