Vintage Toy Store Photos Volume 12

It's time once again to be whisked back to a simplier time, one that was dominated by "Mom and Pop" toy chains and the wonderful, almost chaotic way toys were distributed.

Plaidstallions Vintage Toy Store Photos volume twelve is different from previous entries in that it features images from a photo album of a former Mattel employee, who seemed to in charge of taking shots of retail displays and while Mattel stuff is in the foreground, there sure is a lot of neat stuff going on in the background as well.

I'm happy to announce that this find of photos insures that volume 13 and 14 will follow shortly this year as well. Until then enjoy a nice view of vintage polaroid goodness with the likes of Barbie, Hot Wheels, Battlestar Galactica, Heroes in Action and the gang at Sesame Street.

Click here to Visit Vintage Toy Store Photos Volume 12.

And of course, if you haven't already please check out parts one through eleven by visting the vintage toy store gallery page.

I just LOVE old toy store shots. Sometimes I wish I could just step into those photos and look down my favorite isle. Makes it feel just like yesterday.

ABsolutely love this section of PS!

I used to be infatuated with the little wind-up robots hanging on the wall of the first shot, center right on the black with orange oval cards. I used to steal them from the local Two Guys in Levittown, PA. I cannot, however, remember what they were called.

If I can have anything, it would be a time machine.

I saw some from the 80s with GI Joe and He-Man. They used to stock stuff to the rafters. I even remember it. Today, the shelves are empty.

The Hot Wheels are stunning! Some beautiful examples hanging there including some Super Chromes, just awesome. I spy some Gabriel Disney Push-Puppets in the "Broulles" Norfolk, VA shot too, cool!

If only someone had taken photos of a Ben Franklin's!

These are great though. I just went through a toy dept at Wal-Mart. It's just not the same.

Those old toystore photos are my favorite part of PS so thats good to hear.

Toys shelf product is so boring now that no one can really blame them for not stocking them like they use to.

I used to set both him and my Takara wind-up R2 going at the same time and have a droid race.
