Female, dude. Black hair would be my choice. Blond is nice, but black hair is where its at. (Jessica Drew Spider-Woman!)

Chestnut brown with lighter streaks of caramel.
If not, then black.:smiley1::smiley1::smiley1:

If its a blond it would be an easy dye job to any other color.

Saran hair doesnt take dye. I foresee reroots.

I really dislike the Mego female body and heads, so I'd be tempted to re-use the costumes on a your new female figure. It would be awesome if you had multiple females heads, but I'm sure that would be too much right off the bat.

not hair dye, clothes dye.I colored a Glenda the Good Witch from WOZ to black and it took.

Yeah, multiple heads wouldn't be an option at first but if the first run of bodies sold well I would definitely work on getting more designs made.

I would have to go with the Female body. There are so many female characters I want to make. You have to do what you can make the most money with, so there can be more waves of figures.

Another vote for FEMALE for me! There has NEVER been a good Mego scale female body mass produced, so you'd be the first person to make one. I'm dying to see the head with hair(please no Mego Barbie Doll look:yuk:).

Add me to the list of those who vote FEMALE. Tons of characters I want to make, just need that new Female body of yours to do 'em right. I can wait awhile for the Male bodies to become available.

I'd pick one male and one female, and let them reproduce...
Aaargh, the agony of choice!
OK, female!

How many votes are you looking for Craig?
Maybe you should make this a poll or something.

I'm not really looking for a specific number of votes, just mainly opinions on why one or the other body should be made first. I thought about doing a poll but I didn't see an option for it on the board.
In the long term you'll sell many more male bodies. However, there's probably more pent up demand in the short term for the female . Whether that's enough to make it worth your while will be something you'll need to determine based upon your cost structure.

I would say female.
Just as long as the Mego female heads would fit on them.
Then, I would finally do a custom Power Girl, with those interchangeable chest sizes!
Heck, I might give 'em all big boobs just like in the comics!

The Mego female heads won't fit this body. When it's initially released people are going to have to be creative with the head that comes with the body.

I want to second what Boss said. I really would love to have the female body. I have so many female characters that would look great with this body. However, I do far more male customs than female, so in the long run I would use more of the male bodies for sure! (Based on what I have seen, I am wanting to use the Zica bodies as my exclusive custom body - they are simply fantastic looking!!!) I am also going to say that I am running low on my stock of both male and female bodies, so hurry up already!!

Female, you'd have the market cornered for actual good mego scale female bodies.

Especially with only two other choices on the market: namely Doc's female body, and CTVT's.
Doc's got some good merchandise; really good quality as to the plastic, and construction.
CTVT, is cheap (or should that be cheep?) junk that splits, breaks and chips.
Castaway has never made any (and they never answered my question as to whether or not they were going to make one).
So, you are the best bet for an alternative female body.
We all know your stuff is high quality, in the materials and construction. Your prices are more than reasonable, and even with the increase for the packaging, it isn't going to be TOO hard on the pocketbook.
(I have a jar full of quarters that can go to buying these girlies with no problem. Although I will deposit them in my checking account beforehand.)
I know that I have been a pain in the patoot about this; a real BIG pain at that, but I really, REALLY believe in this product, and want to see it succeed.
Well, that and get my greedy paws on it.

I would vote for the MALE body!
Female all the way. While Doc's are nice and i use canon fodder from the mego lines, we really need a female figure who can show off her belly without seeing the ball there in the middle. Too many modern characters show off thier mid-riffs and that ball doesn't look good. and we need the varied breast sizes as well.

Given that both doc's and CTVT's are repros of the sucktacular Mego figure, ZICA would be the only alternative to that terrible design.

The only two good female bodies right now IMO are retro mattel WW and Hunter Ann, so the Zica Female would be a knockout!!!

There are a bunch of choices for male bodies to hold us over until the male body is produced, we have Mego, EMCE, Castaway, Mattel, Hunter Dan, Zica type1, Jakks Pacific, and various custom bodies that people come up with. A Female body is needed really bad especially one with a good head sculpt since most mego female heads are bulky and baloon-like, although Dinamite is a good scale head.

I think the female body would be best if you can only do one to start. Also since the old Mego heads aren't compatible with the new body (and since most of the female Mego heads stink IMHO) you could also release a set of 4-6 heads as a separate pack to help people customize. And since I have no desire to root hair maybe one (or two) heads with molded hair (especially short hair like the Danger Girl doll or the FC Spider Woman).
--Dirk--
Well it definitely seems as though the female body is winning the battle of the sexes when it comes to which one should be produced first.

I just have more than a few female customs that should be a bit shorter than my nine inch figures and I think these bodies will be better suited for it than cutting down the arms and legs of FC gals.

Now, to be fair, yes, the original Mego female body had issues.
Teeny hands and feet, and in the case of most of the gals, ginormous heads. The only one to escape that fate was Dinah mite; why they couldn't keep the head size that small and still make the WGSH line as well as the others is beyond me. Even Dorothy's head is a bit big compared to Dinah's, although the resemblance to Judy Garland was nearly spot on.
I really didn't like the way that the neck post on my WW doll kept disappearing into the chest cavity; and not all of them were capable of standing on their own. That ball at the waist bugged me too.
On the other hand, the Rood Speel Supergirl doll did away with that; the chest piece and waist ball were combined into one unit, kinda like Doc's body.
Okay, that makes her a smidge taller than the usual Mego gals, but not overly so.
I don't really remember there being anything else to compare to when it came to articulation in dolls/action figures from the time.
Certainly not Barbie. She wasn't articulated until last year, and while G.I. Joe was always articulated, he wasn't as portable as the 8" line by Mego.
Comparing Craig's body to either vintage Mego or repro Mego is kinda like comparing apples and oranges. It just can't be done.
Am I sorry that I can't put either repro heads or vintage ones on Craig's new body? Sure, but I can always buy one from Doc if I feel I have to use one of his heads or a rerooted beauty.
I just had a thought; eventually, the vintage heads will run out, won't they? Hopefully not for years, and by that time, Craig will have several more female heads to choose from.
If they didn't cost so darned much to have made overseas, I'd try and have a few made. (A few thousand according to experts, at 'X' per head. That's a lot of moola, and I basically can't afford it.)
Okay, I just realized that I'm babbling, and am probably going to bore someone to death with my doing so.
So, I apologize for the babbling.
P.S. Craig, good luck in this endeavor, and no matter which one you decide to produce first, you will be getting quite a bit of my cash for it.
If you make it I'll buy it. A female body works fine if you decide to make that first.

Since June is only a few weeks away, here's to hoping there are no foul ups at the factory.
Can't wait to see the final product Craig.

Lemme see....it is now April 23, and we have just about a week of that month left, plus 31 days of May, so that would put it anywhere from June 1st to say....mid June? Like maybe the 15th or 16th?
That's a good ballpark figure of maybe seven weeks or so.
