What thickness of elastic cord for restringing?

One of my DocMego figures fell apart after one of the hooks became too loose while trying to snap in one of Brian Leit's heads.

I figured "Okay, why not restring the sucker?"

Only, the cord I have is too thin and much too weak. I think that it's only
1/16th of an inch in diameter.

Should I get the 1/8 or something with a little more heft? Or use flat elastic?

After all, if the elastic is going to be INSIDE the figure, does it really matter if it's round or flat?

I always use the 1/8" flat elastic. Works like charm!

That's my only issue with Doc bodies(sorry Doc), a resin head will split the hard plastic and make the arms suck in the shoulders. If someone has a better way tell me. I wish his bodies were blow mold like the originals. As much as people hate the CTVT peepee stance at least those are made of the right material.

string it in long; pull it to the tension you like; tie it off; trim off the excess

I am not sure what the dimension of the round elastic is supposed to be, but I do know you can get the same size Mego used in white and black at most sewing supply places. Flat works just fine also as long as it will pass through the loops in the plastic.
Many of the DM bodies are strung up rather tight with the rubber band system. I tend to restring all my DM items like a T1 to avoid breakage issues later on down the line.

Well, I got the elastic today, and I am trying, repeat TRYING to restring it like a
              T1 figure.

              It just isn't working!

Either the elastic isn't strong enough, or it's too long.

The figure keeps ending up in the pee-pee stance, and I just can't get this thing strung correctly!!!

              EEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

              Help please?

Is there someone who can restring it correctly, or help me out?

Or should I just get another body from Doc?

Here a couple of ways of restringing T1 and CTVT I came up with, don't know if they will help or not. If all else fails contact Doc and see if you can get replacement hooks from him.

Yup, that's the first thing I checked out when I started.

I went right the T1 page, and tried it accordingly.

                  Same thing with the CTVT.

I just can't get the right tension.

I'll get in contact with Doc about either replacement hooks and elastic or getting a new body.

Anyway, I lost the Frank Gorshin head that Brian cast for me!

                  ARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Just when I decide to place the head on a ZICA body that I was hoarding, and I lose the sodding head!

                  GAH!

Never mind, I found the head.

                    It was in my purse.

                    D'oh!
