    Best female body for customs?

Which is the best female body for customs? (I guess the title pretty much said it all, huh?) mego scale, I mean.

Mina is the world's first Paranormal Petsitter in the new middle-grade book series by Gary Buettner, MONSTER PETS, coming in FALL 2014 from EMBY KIDS. Spooky adventure that's perfect reading for kids 8-12

Good question! I'm looking forward to an answer for a project I'd like to do, too!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Well, since there aren't too many options - only Doc has a fully articulate Mego style body. I've also use a few DC Retro's for customs and if the bodies were available without having to buy the whole character I'd probably use them more. If you want a bustier figure a DC Retro is the way to go. I think my Power Girl look much better with a Retro body then it would with a regular Mego body.

      My 2 cents.

For all the issues with the male Mattel body, the female body is fantastic. Has a nice womanly build and better hands. And it poses great.

That said, CTVT offers female bodies with a neck hole instead of a post. If you are sculpting a head, that might be preferable. As with their other products, quality seems a bit hit or miss on these.

f you need a basic female body with a neck. Doc's female body.

If you need a more busty female body. Mattel's Retro-Action female body.

If you need a sturdy body with a neck hole you can mod one of Doc's female bodies. Doc himself posted how to do the mod here on the forums (it isn't hard).

Link on how to do the mod.

Not to hijack GPWD's thread, but I have the same question, but for 12" bodies? any suggestions? I'm partial to the Charlie's Angels (90's version) version with the soft swivel waist. Unfortunately they aren't very poseable and that's something I'll need.

A Member here has his own Porno female body that is amazingly curvyand out of this world. however he doesn't make them to sell. our loss. I do like the Mattel body as well for it's shape and the fact you can shjow of the mid-riff area withouyt seeing the pivot ball , but i dont want to spend $20-40 just to get a body. so i stick with Doc's reliable ones.

I personally use and would go with Doc's female body. They may be a little more expensive, but much sturdier than CTVT. I believe you get what you pay for in most cases.

Fortunately with the DC Retro body, right now you can find Cheetah rather cheap, I just picked up 2 on Amazon and paid just less then $20 total shipped. http://www.amazon.com/Retro-Action-S...0084938&sr=8-1

I have some Uber curvy Japanese bodies that I've had sitting around for Vampirella and red Sonja... I think there was someone here who used the same ones for Mary Jane and Gwen Stacy.

I'm hoping to pck up a bunch of cheap Ceetah's eventually... I like the Mattel Retro females much more than the old school mego bodies.

                        Hmmmm....

The original Mego 8" body is verall the best. Doc's bod is a slightly sturdier version, and just as good. It's easy to swap out parts to make any physique you need. The CTVT ones are like the Mego bod, but are almost completely bad. (The male ones got better as they went along, but I don't think the sold enough female ones to warrant redoing the molds, so they're usually pretty rough.)
