I know Hector is watching this series..anyone else? Damian?

Off to a good start. While I'm not sold yet on the lead actor, I do believe he will grow on me. He is every bit as intense as Andy Whitfield. Love it that Lucy Lawless is back (I don't know how she survived) as well as some of the other main characters.

This season has great promise with the aftermath of the fall of the House of Batiatus. I love the last scene with Spartacus talking about how his men will grow in number to become legions - and then they will fight the Romans. Going to be a wild ride.

Yeah, I have to get used to the new guy.

Andy was such a presence...I still miss him a lot...but looks like the new guy will do a fine job...but like I said...I have get use to him first.

I watched the first season of this recently, so I'm catching up. If it keeps up being this crazy, sexy and violent - I can dig it!

Love it. I'm a big fan of Andy, but I think the new guy will be ok. Andy's Spartacus really felt like he could stand up to Crixus, but I'm with Hector and will have to get used to the new guy.

I saw the first episode but I don't have Starz so I will have to wait awhile or breakdown and subscribe for a few months just so I can watch.

There is no replacing Andy but I am sure that I too will get used to the new guy as well. I am glad to see so many familiar faces back though. It helps with the transition.

Looking forward to watching the 1st episode later, aslong as my girlfriend remembered to record it for me,or it's the garage she will be sleeping in tonite. :smiley1: it started on one of the satelite channels this week for us over here.

I liked Andy as Spartacus and his presence on screen will be missed, hope the new guy is also as good as Andy's portrayal of Spartacus.

Have watched the first two seasons and enjoyed them both. Will have to wait until this one is released on DVD.

Im watching every episode as soon as they come out. The first two seasons were great, and making season two a prequal was a stroke of genius to give Andy a chance to get better. It broke my heart when he passed. He portrayed Sparticus with a believability that the new actor just hasn't pulled off yet. Its still early so I hope he gets it down. All the characters in this show are sooo hardcore. Its gonna be another great season.

I always have a hard to accepting a new actor in an established role.

When I heard he died, I was like, "hey, what?"
He looked like he could take on the whole world...

Episode 2 was very good. I was wondering when that snake, Ashur, would show back up.

I love the writing for this show - extremely smart. And the new Spartacus is growing on me still.

Yes episode 2 was really good,i was suprised that Ashur turned up especially with Oenomaus, hope he gets his come uppance and Oenomaus shoves a sword in him lol.

I am warming to the new Spartacus, the fight scenes are awesome, just as good as the last series.

OK...I have more to say about Vengeance.

I have a few issue with Vengeance.

I still cannot get used to the new lead actor. I miss Andy Whitfield...he was Spartacus.

The new guy (I still can't remember his name) is doing an OK job, but he just looks so different...for one thing, he has a HUGE head, he runs funny (he has knock knees), and he's not cut like Whitfield. But he's a decent actor, so I'll try to live with it, lol.

Crixus' girlfriend from Blood and Sand, Naevia (originally played by the very sexy Lesley-Ann Brandt), is now played by someone else as well...that also bothered the heck outta me...the new chick is OK...but she's nowhere as beautiful as Brandt...and they just look different, and loses it's continuity yet again (like in the new lead actor's case).

The overabundance of annoying and repetitive slow-motion action scenes (more than ever before)...it's becoming not only obnoxious, but comical as well...I hope that stuff stops...but I doubt it, lol.

Still looking forward to the next episode...a surprise appearance by the lead actor from the prequel...Gods of the Arena, Gannicus...he's back in the arena (why, I have no idea, since he was freed at the end of that series)...the only thing I'm weary is that they might kill him off, that would suck, especially after all he went through in Gods of the Arena, lol.

I am getting used to the new guy (Liam McIntyre) but I still miss Andy. He was just so perfect for the role. The one that really bugs me is the woman paying Naevia, I don't like her at all. She doesn't look or act the part. I know she is a vital part of the story but I almost feel like they should have found away to kill of her character and still motivate Crixus.

Maybe it's just me but it seems like they toned down the CGI blood this time around. Now don't get me wrong, there is plenty but it doesn't seem as over the top as it did in the other seasons.

Despite the changes, I still love this show. I can't wait to see what Ashur is up too next and who's side is Gannicus on. I enjoyed him in Gods of the Arena and hope to see him stick around and help the rebellion out.

I'm still okay with the new Spartacus. He's not Andy Whitfield, but he's doing a good job. And yes, he does have a big head Hector.

I do not like the new Naevia. Not even close to Lesley-Ann Brandt in looks or acting. They did a poor job with the casting on that one.

The slow-motion scenes remind me of 300, which I think they are trying to copy too much.

The presence of Gannicus is interesting...and I can't wait to see how they off Ashur. I hope he gets it nice and slow.

Yeah still loving this show but the new Naevia is not a notch on the old Naevia played by Brandt and i can see past the fact that Liam McIntyre is no Andy Whitfield,he will always be the True Spartacus in my eyes.

The slow mo stuff is ok,just hope it's not trying to copy 300 too much,i hope Oenomaus sorts Ashur out for capturing him in episode 2,he is such a snake.

Are you guys an episode infront of us over here in the UK?As i did not see Gannicus in this weeks episode (i may of missed that part, when i went to make a cup of tea) :smiley1:

I watched 300 again last weekend and was floored at how similar the Sparatcus shows are to the movie. Go back and re-watch 300 if you haven't seen it in a while.

I guess you didn't get my answer to raider5gt...lol.

Seen 300 like 20 times, I just saw it again just three days ago...300 and Spartacus is the same bloody thing...and that's what I meant from the beginning...

Been a bit behind on watching some of the episodes.

Just finished Episode 5 - Lucius

I have to say, this is probably the best episode of any of the three seasons so far. Epic episode. Had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Great writing and pretty decent acting.

And Spartacus has grown on me. He's not the same as Whitfield to be sure, but he is growing into the part very nicely.

They just showed the Gods of the Arena here. Saw the last episode last night. The last battle between the two Lanista Houses was terrific.
If I'm lucky, they'll show this new season starting september.

I must be missing something. I watched the !@#$ out of Season 1 of Game of Thrones and could not get enough of it so I netflixed this show right after and barely got through three episodes before I pulled the plug. I gotta say it wasn't what I was expecting. Half the time it was like I was watching (uncomfortable) porn and the other half was odd cheap looking CGI effects. The thing that got me most though was the ham acting. Aside from the main guy, it was really cheesy, like almost everyone else was privied to some inside joke and went about smirking through their lines. It did remind me a lot of 300 and I didn't like that movie at all so that could have something to do with it too. I had such high hopes since I heard so many good things about it here but for me it was a total let down.

Yeah that's what i thought,it was a great ending to the series,so glad a few of the snakes had what was coming to them too.

Next season is rumoured to have Caesar coming after Spartacus,so i reckon this my be the final series.

I am currently going back to watch the 1st series Blood and Sand,to get my Spartacus fix.

I would think next season will be about the growing army that Spartacus puts together clashing with the legions of Rome...and Rome winning in the end.

Eventually the bigger, more well-equipped army wins.

It will be interesting (and sad) to see how Spartacus dies. I'm sure it will be very graphic and very glorious.
