View Full Version : Tardis Playset with K-9 by BifBangPow!
While we haven’t seen what lays ahead for the BifBangPow Doctor Who figure lines in 2012, it’s pretty inspiring to see this Vinyl Tardis Playset complete with K-9 is now available for preorder at Entertainment Earth. Let me at that Tardis Console, woot!

My only suggestion would be to have some kind of view screen. Maybe something similar to the Enterprise Bridge.

I don't collect these, but $50 bucks seems very reasonable.

At four inches, would this be Mego compatible? It would be very cool if it were around the same size as the BBP retro K-9

Is this vinyl like the vintage Star Trek bridge playset? The description on the Megomuseum calls it a vinyl playset but the actual description on EE doesn't mention vinyl and says that's it's made of thick "doll house" cardboard. I think those are two different things.

Just to put the price into perspective ( and I realize these are imports), a two figure 8" set is the same price as this 5" set!

And again, same price for this Tardis set at 5" scale.

Very exciting. Exactly how I would have done it. I also read it to mean laminated chipboard, not vinyl encased. Still cool as heck!

I'm not a huge Doctor Who fan (new fan, though) but I'll probably be picking this up. It's just too cool. Plus, I want to support any kind of playset for our Megos that's released. I'd love to see more playsets and things like this produced in Mego scale.
BTW, does anyone know if there are any good in-hand pics of the Big Bang Pow! Doctor Who Megos shown anywhere? I'm thinking of picking some up.

I hope that the console is a little on the small side so it might work with the 5" figures. :wink_y:
Where was this playset 25+ years ago!?! I even traveled to London in 1986 to find nothing.
MegoScott, Did you do create the Tardis artwork for BBP!?

Well if you look at it, the proportions are a little off for a 8 inch figure. The console is a bit steep and not wide enough at the tabletop. That's probably so it will fit in the TARDIS carry case. If the stand can be shortened it should look close enough to scale for a UT/CO figure. Is it 6-sided tho? It seems to be shoved pretty close into that corner.

We will see soon if it does have six sides.
It is so sad that they don't make a classic Tardis interior for the five/six inch figures. Or at least just a consol.

I pre-ordered my Tardis and K-9 in December. EE is saying this won't be in stock until March? Is anybody else hearing another date sooner or later than March??
I'm getting goose bumps to seeing release of this.

I received my think geek k9 last week and although i am grateful that my Dr has his trusty sidekick , k9 is primarily a prop no moving parts to wheels underneath just a chunk of plastic

They shouldve at least given him wheels, thats not good design thought, still looking forward to him and the tardis.

Yeah, I think the thing with K9 is he's an addition to a play set, so they have to keep him at a certain cost. Adding movable parts probably wasn't an option. I'm OK with it because K9 didn't really move all that much and the Denys Fisher K9 is so darn fragile because his ears move.
