World's Greatest Western Heroes--line extensions?

has anyone tried expanding the Mego American West line?

I'm considering doing Billy the Kid, Zapata, & possibly Annie Oakley (mostly kitbashes). Maybe another Native American character, too--to take advantage of Mego's cool bow & quiver.

I'd be interested in your suggestions/feedback. Thanks!

I was pretty obsessed with extending the western series for a while. Went so far as to do artwork in the style of the mego boxes. My first guy was a gambler, unfortunately my casting and sewing skills were not where they needed to be. Now I think I could pull it off. Let me see if I can find the illustration.

Geronimo
Jesse James
Annie Oakley
Bat Masterson

Given the right heads I'd think these could be made with the existing customizing stuff that's out there.

Castaway did a Jesse James to fit in with WGWH and I know there was someone who did a line of customs of Cowboys from western comics that came out great. I've done a Zapata and a Poncho Villa for Hector

Great ideas, all.

For me, this all started because I had an extra Jean Lafitte head and a Fighting Furies sombrero. They worked well together, & I thought, "How easy to do a Mexican figure for the line, what else might work?"

I was thinking of using Galahad for Billy the Kid & Supergirl for Annie.

I do like the idea of Geronimo or Crazy Horse, maybe I can redeco Cochise with added warpaint.

The trick is finding vintage heads & hats that "fit." I'm not familiar with the Paco cowboys...

Those are very cool! Excellent sculpts, too

I had not thought about including a sword, but I have a Jawa bandolier that might work with one. My Mexican figure will def. have a garish serape, because I think it's what Mego would have done.

TV westerns!

Tv Western Heroes sounds good! I'll take the Lone Ranger & Tonto, Matt Dillion, Hopalong Cassidy, & Zorro but it would cost too much I' m sure for all the likeness of the actors.
