    Found money. Well, sort of.

I went to an auction this past Friday. Knew there was going to be some toys up that I would be interested in. I did not get what I went for, Mattel Space 1999 Eagle. Had box, incomplete- no figures or weapons - went for over 200 bucks.

I did get a Big Jim camper with a bunch of stuff inside. A Jim, a headless Steve Scout, loose camper accesories and a Barbie closet with Big Jim outfits.

Got home and took a look through everything and look what was inside the pocket of the khaki shirt! A homemade wallet & money. 186 bucks to be exact!

I love finding homemade accesories when buying old toys.

That's kinda pricey for a incomplete Space 1999 Eagle Mattel

I stopped at 50 bucks, but it just kept on going. My jaw was dropping lower and lower as the bid was going up and up.

I sold an incomplete Space 1999 Eagle 1 for $80+ about a year ago. Was surprised it went so high then too.

i think I might have a Steve Scout head if you are looking to complete the one you got. not even sure if they can be repaired as I never had one

It's too bad you didn't find the money before you left- you could have used it on that 1999 Eagle!!

Congrats on your auction find. I love auctions, but it is sometimes very strange to watch what you'd think is a worthless piece go for some insane money. That's the fun of an auction, though... the right two guys show up and the bidding goes wild. I always go hoping that other guy doesn't show up.

What good is homemade money? That'll just get you into trouble.
