**** thread might be a bit picture heavy for those using a slow connection or pc
If you want 3d glasses get in touch

I have had a few 3d thread topics listed in various forums on this site
because of subject matter (ex; keeping monster themed ones in the monster subforum). At this point I am just going to keep one thread and
this is it, always updating it with any more pics I am going to add

For the two of you who might actually give a darn

Most of all of these are going to be in the red/cyan (blue) anaglyph format

Most of these are original 2d images manipulated into 3d by myself, while others are true 3d pics I took.

Most might be a bit rough, but enough to give you a nice effect

I strongly recommend standing at least 5-7 feet away from your monitor and with the lights slightly dimmed or off

Most will be red lens left. A FEW might be blue lens left and if so will let you know at the top of said picture

for now let's start with these:

Yeah---I'll have to dig my old red n' blues out to appreciate these, mazinz! But it is a cool concept. Maybe I should make my "WORD of The Day" thread in 3D....!

sort of inspired by the old (and new) film Snowbeast (see the monster movie table board on this site the 2d version can be found there), I made a quick (because it was freezing outside), crappy diorama setup using a custom Snowbeast and the fisherprice adventure people

FOR THIS PICTURE TO LOOK RIGHT you MUST stand at least 5 fet away from your monitor--enjoy red lens over left eye

I made these a few years back to show how one could (very roughly) truly convert a 2d movie into a 3d one (via with a lot of mattes and compositing).

Red lens left eye. Taken on 3/17/12. Both a little rough on the eyes, but effective nonetheless (and for these I do recommend standing 4-5 feet away from your monitor)

AND to see who may be paying attention, the next 8 replies get plaid stallions card #36 (godzilla vs tricephalon) as well as a pair (or 2 pairs) of red/blue 3d glasses

Many more pics and I got in 75 pairs of glasses. Cost you nothing if you want a pair, and I would suggest reading post #19 if you do want glasses as you might be able to get a bonus goodie as well.

I do resize the images enough so it can fit in your browser window. However if part of an image gets cut off and if you use fire fox, click on the "view" option on the top of the browser and then click on "zoom out". You can zoom out as much as needed and this will fix any image cutoff for you

ALL pics red lens left.

up first are two pics for my "dead Eagle One" space 1999 custom model (that thread is in the finished customs forum). The pics came out very well

Red lens over left eye. This is a true 3d image made from a 2d video source (Arial views on the Smithsonian HD channel). I call this a true 3d image because the camera was panning to the right while slowly moving in a circle to get a full shot of this area in Mexico. Because of this I was able to find a frame of the video I liked (for the left image) and since it was moving to the right and turning I went another 3 frames and took another picture for the right (since this is technically how a 3d image is taken to begin with)

In the end it created this nice stereo image for you and a new trick for me when it comes to 2d to 3d conversion--cheers

a 2d to 3d conversion.Red lens over left eye. A little rough with some of the edging, but a rather nice effect form the film Stranger than Paradise

Red lens over left eye. Once again thanks to a friend of mine for another awesome photo to work with. This one was done with half color (otherwise it would spoil the effect). The further back you stand the
better the 3d effect looks--cheers

This is a true vintage 3d photo from 1897. Red lens left eye. This was originally a side by side shot on a
postcard (two images next to each other). Many of you may have seen those old 3d viewers from the
late 19th and 20th century where it looks like a pair of steampunk binoculars attached to a small wooden
pole with a post card like photograph at the end. These were the first 3d viewers and photos and both
of which are still around today. You can buy these 3d photos at many antique shops for very cheap.
What is interesting about this one is that you can actually feel the photograph glued to the card
backing. This tells me it might possibly be a one of a kind since mass produced cards even back
in those days were printed. This makes the photo even more unique and I kept the the original
card writing and backing, but altered it to show the one 3d image so you can view it. Enjoy some history--
photo was shrunken to fit on this board

Taken from the Godzilla's Rampage 1978 Viewmaster reel (my own). 3d image red lens over left eye. Viewmaster reels work with with a side by side 3d method (like most bluray 3d). Because of this, color issues do not exist. Since I converted this to red/blue - color problems present themselves. To fix this I had to save the image with a "dubois" setting that mildly alters the hue/tint. Now you can see it in full color (still close to the original color options) and without any eye hurting from colors clashing with the stupid glasses.--enjoy
