Picked up a repto tonight at Value Vilage. I can't read the writing on his butt. I'm pretty sure it's original but I see that Palisades redid the line and I can't tell difference. Did this drop the value of the originals?

How to tell difference Micronauts mego/palisades?

The coloring is one of the best ways of telling the difference between Mego Micronauts and Palisades' Micronauts. Mego Repto is lighter in color (on body, wings and weapons) than the Palisades' version. Palisades' also made several other color variations that Mego did not. This great website can give you a better explanation than I...

The palisades plastic is a bit different, and the quality is lower. Also, I feel like I recall the rivets being different. Keep in mind however, that there are other non-mego micronauts. I once found a yellow Time Traveller in a lot of vintage 3.75 figures that was clearly a bootleg. Looked almost legit... but had two left arms. The copyright info was missing, but you could see that it had been scoured or defaced before molding. Other than a slightly lower quality it was spot on. Have no idea where he came from. Was with some vintage SW, a small Mazinga, the Metal Men Soldier guy and a couple Micronaut aliens. So certainly vintage.Comment

The Palisades 'classic style' repro of Repto has darker green and red. The quality of the plastic is comparable to Mego's. In fact, I'd say the solid-color Palisades Reptos are as good as the Mego ones, if not slightly better in some respect.Micronauts Collector, Historian, Consultant
