Well folks it's that time of year again. We need a new logo for Mego Meet 2012.

Interesting. Being's that I'm a big GL fan, I like the GL theme of it. My only critique is it seems a little dark.

Looking good guys. I like all three. It would be cool if the Zombie version could be a little more Mego; I love the GL ring with the Mego logo incorparated; Jim's concept rocks too but it needs cleaned-up a little.

I, too, like the concept of the first three Zombie submissions, but the first two are, from a graphic design standpoint (and only IMHO) a little difficult to read. Third one is cleaner and easier on the eyes, but I agree with EMCE that it needs more MEGO-izing...

Not a critique, just a professional observation...

Thanks, I'd prefer clear photos as well, but I don't have good resolution images of some of these guys to work with, so I had to stylize them a bit.

I was PLANNING on working on mine tonight on the computer when I get home, but as luck (or fate) would have it, we had a freakish line of winter tornadoes go through the area and my power at home is OUT. Luckily, neither me nor MIB41 suffered any damage (that I know of) from these things. Looks like it's gonna be another screwed up weather year!!!!

I have been messing around with one here lately just for the heck of it. Still not done yet as I am not happy with the way it looks just yet. I figured I might as well play although I do not expect to win. There are some really good winning submissions that have already been submitted above earlier IMO. :cool_y:

I like the Zombie design. The messy blood spatter doesn't bother me much. Perhaps a picture incorporating Zombies, Twilight Zone and Universal Monsters would be good? The only non-hero pic used so far has been the Apes version. Why not highlight villains/Monsters in this years pic?

The Green Lantern with Mego logo in the ring is a great idea. Maybe it would be better if you took a pic of a RA GL fist & his face and photoshopped them together and added the Mego logo in the ring?

The Supes/Flash pic is also good.I like the reference to the comic and the racing pose.

Jim the shot of Dorothy and Spidey in the painting is pretty good. If you're going to use Spidey why not use ISIS, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, etc? Dorothy seems so plain. Or why not make variants like Bats & Catwoman, Supes and ISIS, etc?

I like Hec's design too but it needs something more.

Here is another remdition that I have done of my earlier entry. Some one mentioned putting Zombies in the background so I did that. It fills in the background more as my first rendition is really clean, but seems rather empty as far as a background is concerned. :smile:

I'm really hoping that you do more trading cards for Mego Meet this year. They were universally praised with high compliments by attendees. The uncut sheets were a terrific surprise as well. Full of awesome. Sorry you did not get to stick around last year.

Your hopes will be answered. I am working on several things including finishing the Popy card line. I will have much goodness, including more stacks of uncut sheets at the meet. And I WILL be there this year, barring any more unforeseen circumstances.

I think the Ali vs Supes was a cool idea, super jealous I did not come up with it myself. (course, my design was submitted within 2 hrs of the thread being started lol)
From attending previous Meets, I had in mind our name badges. My simpler design was intended for that scale and color choices work for a t-shirt.

The Ali vs Supes is waay too busy to be on the badges..it's more useful, and would be far superior as an 11x17 Poster.

I agree with Chad, I love the Ali/Supes as well but is it too envolved to be a practical logo? that submission is a work of art, not what I would consider a logo. I'm sure it could be re-worked to deliver the same message . . . . June is inching closer boys!!

I like the 2nd zombie entry. The blood splatter really adds to the theme. I agree with most the Supes vs Ali would make a dynamite poster but is a little extreme for a logo. I think it would make an excellent cover for a Mego related book.

I wasn't going to do shirts this year but since I still have access to the equipment I will consider going through the trouble if there's enough interest. I do think the zombie will look pretty good on a T-shirt.
