    GI Joe's cheaper wheels

During the 60s and 70s, Irwin Toy made some lower cost blow molded vehicles for lines like G.I. Joe and Action Jackson that were a lot of fun and quite collectible these days.

The cool thing about these is Irwin actually went and licensed the GI Joe name for some of these, they were branded official and that's well....kind of classy.

I have one of the Irwin Amphacats sitting in a box. It wasnt the nice version shown here. It was the blobby blow-mold version. I won it on ebay. The seller failed to mention that the axle connection of all the wheels had all broken and had been glued back together using some blue silicon gunk.

Irwin also made many of the early Barbie vehicles, also officially licensed. Again, these look lie they'd fit Megos better. I think Batman needs a new copter...

The beauty of the 60's and 70's is how other companies created accessories for popular figure lines. Unheard of these days...
