Sanding Aj? Good Bad?

I have seen where people have sanded a Gijoe head down to make him look bald with good results.

Has anyone sanded down a Action Jackson head with good results? I don't like the AJ hair style and just want to smooth it out a little and then paint it. Not sure if this works well with the AJ head or even if they are made with same materials ,any ideas?

I have done some work on Mego and/or repro heads for some custom but not AJ i n particular and not to go for a bald look. but it can be done, i usually carefully shave with an exacto knife any of the higher areas and then use a fine grit sandpaper to smooth it out. Did this most recently with a Captain patch head to try and remove the bandana and then repainted to look like a hair line. first attempt was not perfect but passable for my needs
