I noticed a lot of modern toys are sold from there on eBay loose. I saw Masters of the Universe classics, maybe some others. What is the deal with this? Stolen from the factory or something?

That's a good question
Maybe the figures are counterfeits?
I can't imagine China having too many rules about counterfeiting

Either dumpster diving is involved or alot of stuff is going out the backdoor.

I have noticed that with the Indiana Jones line as well, all the figures you could not find in stores, the TOD, line, you can get pretty cheap from Hong Kong. Course the shipping is high

I find this mainly with electronics, like when they are .99 cents and from hong kong but with free shipping that takes 3 weeks

There use to be this great site that you could get Nintendo DS games cheap from Hong Kong. Took about a week and a half to get the games. Sadly,I checked last week and GoDaddy said their web site was for sale.

My best suppliers are in China and Hong Kong.
Very reliable, affordable shipping, sent registered for like $5.
They send it as "gift" "value $5", so you don't get customs charges.
I usually get my stuff within the week.
I can't say enough great things about them.
Once, a package took extra long. The guy immediately paid back everything including full shipping. When the damn thing eventually showed up, I let him know that I wanted to pay what I owed. He would only accept the value of the figure, shipping was on him. So I ended up getting my stuff shipped for free.
And yes, your VISA statement will probably read "Yuen Lu Wan"" or something, but that's fine by me!
Btw: I've never received knock-offs, only the real deal!
What does happen is this: sometimes figures get rejected, let's say because the pants are not perfect. The factory will retain the whole thing, and some sellers then sell off the figure part by part. Those items are flawless.
When boxes get damaged, Chinese sellers rip them off the card and sell them loose. Nothing wrong with that.
I buy American stuff from China all the time...

It stands to reason that a lot of toys are made in factories over there. maybe somebody buys out end of the line stuff and rejected paint jobs. I just bought a Yellow DD from the Spider-man classics line from China, so 'll report back what I got.

LoL's, just got my Yellow DD from China, he has his left leg on his right and vice versa. Not looking forward to my ML Maskless Wolverine. Obviously they are selling rejected or imperfect figures.

All of my 1/6 scale purchases have been perfect. No bootlegs, no faults. I've been buying from Chinese and Hong Kong sellers for years...

My wife and I bought halloween costumes from Hong Kong and received them promptly with lots of free weird candy and a nice little personalized letter. And yes I ate the candy and it was good but kinda weird.

Both ...
And they also Sell ProtoTypes, and 2ups too.
But All the 1's I've ever saw , never have weaponry either ...., if the figure came with such things. Some of the ProtoType Coloring is sorta neat to me.
I buy lots ofr Crap from Over seas sellers ...., A couple regular 1's too. Always somewhat promp shipping.

What is a 2ups?
A 2up , from what I've read, is the Actual Scale The figure is Sculpted in ..
With Something like the DC Universe Classic line ..., The 2up is the Giants of Justice 12inchers they came out witha a Few of, Like the Jordan Lantern right now at ToysRus ... , Thats the ActuaL Scale the figure is Sculpted ion, I believe ..., Then they are Shrunken when they Roll out for the Toy Line .
There's been Quite a Bit of 2ups Prototypes on the 2ndary Market ...
1 of the coolest 1's I've seen was the Aquaman DCU Classics Unpainted Proto ...., I think I was outbid on it by like 50cents or something. :googly:
