Long story, but I got to open one of my gifts today and was I surprised. My wife got me a Garmin StreetPilot GPS navigation system!!! It is for my garage/estate sale treasure hunting hobby.
She said she was tired of cleaning up all my slips of paper with addresses and print outs of MapQuest. :smiley1:
I still have alot to open under the treee and I believe my WGT book is under there.
What did you get that surprised you?

Too soon to tell, but I'm hoping for the 4-Disc Special Edition of Blade Runner which contains the 1982 original theatrical released version of the film w/Deckard's narration.

My amazing wife, who consented to marry me even though she is waaaay out of my league, got me a FAA approved, lockable, hard shell case for my baby! No more taking it apart and mailing it in several different boxes when I fly down south to visit the folks!

And speaking of my folks, God bless 'em, they totaly rocked my world when I opened up this little sweetie; circa 1970s Astra Firecat .25 Auto with the original box (!!) and a hand made leather holster. No way do I deserve this gun! In terms of scarcity, if it were a Mego, it'd be somewhere between the Titans and the SI figures. And it couldn't be in better condition!

I am the Anti-Punisher!
I'm 37 and I've had firearms since I was 16... never once fired a shot in anger, never had any sort of firearms related mishap, and taught a gun safety course for 3 years for a civilian agency working under the auspices of the Florida Highway Patrol. Every single time I touch a gun, every single safety protocol is in effect. Don't hunt either, strictly a range rat! I just like things that go BOOM! :)

Suddenly that famous quote from A Christmas Story "You'll shoot your eye out Kid!" is an understatement!

hard shell case for my baby!
Spaz 12 gauge 5 shell plus 1 in the chamber auto/pump?
My old room mate had one, got down on money and pawned it for $100 and didnt tell me. He never got it back out.
That thing was a blast (no pun intended) to shoot.

Oh, gawd I wish! We ain't got that kind of loot... and if we did, I'd probably spend it on Megos!
Not to mention i'd be afraid that a pistol gripped .12 ga would jump up and smack me in the face when I fired it... and also break my wrist.
It's a Mossberg 500 Persuader .20 ga 5/1 pump action w/aftermarket top folding stock and I just love it!
It's an unkillable beast... despite my best efforts when I first got it, I could not short shuck it or get it to misfire... I mean, I was trying! Just wanted to learn it's pet peeves and what not to do, but it's just idiot proof.
You can feed it 2 3/4" OR 3" shells and you can even mix 'em in the mag tube and it doesn't care. Even when firing slugs it has no real kick and is easily handled by the wife (she loves it also!). It is beyond easy to take apart and put back together, it's pretty darn accurate even from the hip, and it doesn't seem to care if you clean it or not. I mean I do clean it, but when I first got it I wanted to see how long it took to get all gunked up, and over the first few weekends we put over 800 rounds of all types and sizes through it without cleaning it once and everything was still as smooth as oiled silk. I'm pretty sure I could use it to dig some holes and hammer some nails and then go straight to the range with no problems.

I really don't know yet.
I'm a big book junkie, so I'm hoping for a few books including the War documentary companion book (it's really not something I would go out and buy myself but would enjoy it as a gift).
I probably will be getting some Redskins 75th anniversary attire and a few small gifts. I really do enjoy giving more than I do receiving.
The other day when I received that nice watch from my employer was the most expensive single gift I have ever received to date.

last year it was the Far Side complete book set and the Calvin and Hobbes complete book set. Books I will re-read numerous times just for the laughs.
this year I am hoping for one of the many picasso/Van Gogh books I have been looking at :)

We won't be opening presents until tomorrow, but I already got my big present, which was really all I wanted. I got a Force FX lightsaber! I've been wanting one for a while and now I have a digital camera so I'm going to get out some of the costume stuff I made and take pictures.
I haven't gotten my Secret Santa present yet, but I'm looking forward to that too.

Back in 1998 we had our firstborn, Dylan. He was born on the 23rd of December, and we were expecting him on Christmas Eve.
