    Hot Wheels Primer

I got a bunch of Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars recently. Ranging in age from the 90's to more recent ones. I know ones with the red lines on the wheels can be worth some dough. Anything else to look out for? Are ones from the late 70's to now totally worthless goodwill/garage sale fodder?

The 70s cars are worth more than the recent ones. Redlines that are collectible, ie worth good money were from 1968 - 1974.

Of the recent stuff, certain cars from the 90s are worth good money- but like much that is collectible, condition weighs very heavy. Are yours loose or carded?

A good place to go for identification is http://www.southtexasdiecast.com - click on the Hot Wheels Guide on the top banner.

I'm not much help on Matchbox- the really old stuff can be very collectible $$- don't know about any recent Matchbox.

Another good source is Ebay- search completed listings for recent prices.

If you have any specific questions you can send me a pm.

Cool, thanks. All mine are loose and show play wear.
