Not everyone is a fan of regretsy and April Winchell, but almost everybody hates Paypal when they pull crap like this. As of today it looks like the negative PR shamed them into action.

talk about a bunch of crooks . . . it seems they are heading down the same road as their big brother EBAY . . . with the mentality that whatever we do it has to make US money, damn the customers and service

it's simply a shame to see this kind of thing. I can say as a retailer who has a decent sized Ebay store, that it is some form of "monopoly" that they basically force us to use Paypal (their service) to make even a bigger percentage on the sales (which is another thread for another day). Just disheartening to see this happen and thwart the good will of others.

we simply need an good alternative to them. some good competition would make them see things different quickly.

There is an alternative that is gaining momentum in the grassroots/community level but more merchants need to support it.
