About to make a new head mold, question.

    Hey all,
I'm getting ready to make a new mold for my Julius head. Last time around, I believe I had some issues with the undercuts, leaving some small air bubble holes on the underside of his chin and jaw. I'm not able to do the casting under pressure thing yet, any advice on minimizing the air bubbles in the mold?

Much appreciated. Getting ready to make some crazy stuff.

Add a thin triangular wedge, with the long side running from the chin to base of the neck. It'll form an air canal under the jaw, and the extra bit can be cut off after casting.

I'm trying to imagine what that would look like, do you have a photo or describe a bit more. Thanks Don!

        Hmmmm....

        Here's a rough pic:

The red part is the wedge. It'll let air run out through the plug.... assuming you're using the neck plug as your mold spout.

you can also add extra drainage areas in the mold at the ears to insure that there are no air pockets in them.
