I just learned that Marty Abrams ordered 30 copies of the book from Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/MEGO-Super-Heroes-Worlds-Greatest-Toys/dp/1893905829/) today.

Wow. How cool is that?

That is quite the statement, isn't it? It's a great way for him to relive what he must see as his greatest accomplishment. Kudos.

That is insanely cool because, no doubt, he's going to hand them out to people, most likely family.

How cool is that? Just slightly less cool than the book itself, and that, my good friend, is saying something.

You pretty much did when you pointed out he's probably buying it for friends and family.

Someone needs to mock up a Sear Wish Book page featuring the book. It's this year's most have gift...even for Mr. Mego himself!!!

Great Benjamin!

Maybe flipping through the book will jar a long buried memory of some lost prototype loose from Marty's brain.

Or Not.

Now you need to write a book about Spidey, Fan4, Silver Surfer, etc, and let Stan Lee come to YOUR book signing for an autographed copy!!!

Mr Abrams buying those books must feel something special!!!!

That's awesome. I wish Neal Kublan were still around to see the book. I'm sure he'd be passing it around also.

What a great compliment! Congrats Benjamin.

In other news I can report that the word has indeed spread far...

I was in my local Border's store here in Melbourne today looking for something for my kids. I went to one of those "search" computer kiosks in store, and what book do you think was listed as the primary result from the previous searcher? I had a look around to see who this secret Mego-head might have been, but alas he or she had slipped back into anonymity.

The book was listed as being "Available - special order" by the way, I like to think that the mystery searcher had gone off to order it from the desk.

You are now officially a bi-hemispherically famous published author! :)

Cheers,
Will

Man, that's gotta be something, I actually just got done re-reading my toyfare from a little while back and saw the little write up about it in there! I'm going to have to stop buying the Megos to get the book! :smiley1:
From what I've seen it's amazing, no wonder Marty is all over it man! Good show!

I hate to rain on the parade, but I heard that a few days earlier Marty bought 30 tables from a defective furniture liquidator that all had one leg an inch shorter than the other three...

I wonder if this might bring other former Mego employees out of the shadows. Maybe someone who has moved on and thought little of those halcyon days will be walking through a bookstore and WAM! they walk into a table. BUT once the pain clears they see a copy of WGT and get the urge to contact the author.

Wow, that's awesome. I got the bokk in the other day, but I only took a brief look at it. What i saw was eye popping, but I want to save it for Christmas, so I made my wife take it away from me.
