    Sucklord Reality TV

    OH. MY. GOD.

Sucklord is going to be a contestant on Bravo's Work of Art. My mind is blown, this should be hysterical.

You really have to admire someone who not only calls his customers ***holes, but has us paying him big bucks to do so.

I'm buying what essentially are Fisher Price people for fifty bucks a pop, and thankful to get them before they sell out.

Looks like he has an opening next week.

              from his tweet:
"Suck-Cess in the Art World has been good to me... My next Opening will Be at TOYS R US!!!"

Also missed out on his Chop Suey Rejects. I'll admit, I was hesitant on these. Novel idea too:

Looks like his latest project is pretty funny. Won't post it since it might offend some and it's NSFW. It's for a show in L.A. for a good cause:

                  9.10.11
                  Munky King Melrose

Cooper Berella (aka SuperCooper), a 12 year old artist, art collector, and supportive member of the art community, is curating his second art show at Munky King Gallery in Los Angeles. "Stop It!" opens on Saturday, September 10th, 2011 from 6pm-10pm.

The theme of the show is meant to draw awareness to bullying and cyberbullying. Cooper has confirmed over 70 artists from around the world to participate in the show. Paintings, drawings, custom toys, and prints expressing the artists' view of bullying will be on display. Part of the proceeds from the show will be donated to GLIDE (Gays and Lesbians Initiating a Dialog for Equality) and CHIME Institute (an organization dedicated to inclusive education where kids of all abilities learn together).

Artwork will be displayed at Munky King Gallery in Los Angeles.

Why did Sucklord SUCK so bad on this show? I'm really surprised and disappointed.

                          "enough with the Star Wars"
he really did stay way too much inside his comfort zone... and even then much of it was missing his usual commentary, parody, raunch and humour. too TV safe.

Well, he didn't meet the judges criteria for art, but in regards to a market for his work, buyers, patrons etc. I don't doubt that there are Suckfans out there that would drop big bux for the Star Wars tree, Charlie Sheen Goddess figures or the Gandalf diorama.

The one thing that came across in this tv show that you don't normally get with the huckster persona is just how earnest the Sucklord is about the stuff he loves and his self deprecating attempts at expression. I think folks were expecting much more of performance art from him in the process itself (over say the final product) rather than having him take off the helmet and give us a glimpse into the reality of his studio life.

The extent of it was him insisting that they call him Sucklord, but can you imagine if he did use the inpenetrable nature of that helmet during the gallery show and subsequent crit? Kept in supervillain persona the entire time? it would have been an awesome and hilarious mockery.

Is the Jerk of Art an actual Sucklord release or was it made by someone else? If he made that, I think it's awesome! I truly appreciate any artist who uses self-deprecating humor as part of their character. I prefer it greatly to the guys who think they're the best at whatever they're doing and will be the first ones to tell you how awesome they are.
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

That's his, and if he'd been that clever on the show he might have done better. But in the end he was doomed, the gallery crowd was always going to ding him for using toys. I think he choked because he tried to fit into that conceptual art mold and it's just not his gig.
